Time to get up.....I have finished my coffee, and need to get dressed. Not sure of today's itinerary, except I will need to get our drinks .....juice, milk, tea, soda, more coffee, oh, and the ever-necessary laundry stuff ... which we most assuredly do NOT drink!.
Will be back later on....
How can I be "not sure" about my itinerary? DUH! Of course it is washing Nannie's bedding, washing the dishes, and emptying the wastebaskets! It amazes me how quickly it all piles up, and in a time span of only 24 to 36 hours! I need a daily housekeeper!
T= 88 degrees, "feels-like' temp of 100 degrees, partly cloudy, 75% humidity, with a 56% chance of rain this afternoon. We never did get rain yesterday or last night.
Nannie should be napping soon, because today the half pill (the pharmacy prefills in AM and PM packets) of Lexapro (Ativan) is a larger half, and when that happens...... 😴 Zzzzzzz! That will give me time to run out to resupply our liquids. and THEN, perhaps I can continue the rearranging upstairs. And I need to mix up the hummingbird food, because the hummingbird has been coming to the back door and hovering there to tell me "COME ON! FEED ME!"
I hope not to get aggravated by repetitious Nannie-isms today. I have to remember....she isn't like she was (thank God!), and she isn't like she will be (be careful what you wish for, Stars!) and it all is what it is. I'm good with that until around suppertime, and by then I have become quite tired of her, and my patience seems to disappear.
Next "time off" I have is Wednesday afternoon when SiL will come and get her, and Thursday when Chatty CG is here for the afternoon. I still dream of winning a big sweepstakes or lottery; then I could either hire everyday CG's and/or, if necessary, grease the admission to a nursing home. And THEN I would have time for finishing up getting the house straightened out, and then take some REAL time off by running away for a while....though I still don't know where I'd go! Have to keep Momo in mind, too, because she can't stay here by herself. I could possibly drive down to visit with my friends in Florida (they have many dogs) or beg an old friend/co-worker to put me up for a few days. I could go back up to Asheville and be disgusted by the spreading growth of people and homes/condos/apartments and TRAFFIC there....Or just find a safe motel and hole up for a while. But if Nannie wasn't here, I would be perfectly satisfied to stay here!
The song goes: "Life is but a dream"......so, Dream on, Stars!
Hi. We just switched campsites because someone else has reservations for the we've had for the last 3 nights. We'll be in this one for 2 nights before heading home. Haven't been doing much, sitting, reading, short walks with the dog. Weather has been too cool to do much at the beach. Today dh and ds are going to the aquarium, I'll explore the surrounding area with the dogs. We visited a cool, old lighthouse Saturday. In addition to hearing the foghorn, we can the sea lions barking.
That sounds pleasant, J22.
Tweety, I finished reading The Guncle and found it witty, and the story was sweet without being overly so. Reading is what makes traveling bearable. (the actual task of traveling -- sitting in airports, etc.)
The meetings went well and it is good to be home. We spent one afternoon walking around old Montreal. We toured the Basilica Notre Dame de Montreal. I'll attach some pictures later.
Twin A was heading out to pick up sandwiches from Subway for lunch on Saturday when another pickup truck t-boned ours. So, no more truck. That truck was my father-in-law's. He bought it new in 2002? 3? 4? 5? gosh! who can remember? Anyway, ,Hubs is kind of sad about losing it. Hubs is looking for a replacement. It has to be something that we can tow the boat with. This time it wasn't Twin A's fault, but if anyone is keeping track, that is 4 vehicles he has been driving when they were totaled. I'm relieved he's never been badly hurt (he was pretty sore for some time after the one before this).
It's 106 degrees now. We are in the A/C!! Watching Olympic surfing.
Ado, welcome home. Too bad about the truck gone in the accident, good that Twin A is safe!
Nursej22, Beach sounds nice, enjoy.
Tweety, enjoy your days off!
Joe, I hope work goes OK
I made a lentil stew yesterday, we will eat it for the next few days. It's healthier than the broccoli-cheese soup. 😉
Have a good evening!
Nannie has been blessedly quiet today ~ Aahhhh! 🙂 I was able to keep my cool.
I reckon I bought out the grocery store this afternoon; I figure it saves me from having to go out to the store for at least 1 and 1/2 weeks. (Now watch me find that there's something I totally missed putting on the list!)
Ado, Glad Twin A didn't get hurt in the accident!
I remember hearing fog-horns when I was young....even though my hometown was on the river, you could still hear the horns on a foggy day (or night.) Kind of a nice sound, though sometimes lonely sounding, too. Hardly ever gets foggy down here. I used to go out walking at night in Newburyport (Mass) when it was VERY foggy, liked to hike up to a very old cemetery and just enjoy how quiet it was. Wouldn't do that in this day and age, though! Times have changed!
Tweety~ I was wondering how soaked you are/were getting, with the Debby temper raining down on Florida and on up the coast.
dianah~ 106 is outrageous! We only got to 94 today, but the humidity is suffocating.
j22~ Are you the one who is supposed to be posting some photos for us? Your time away sounds lovely. I yam 'N'-'V'-'US' !
Maybe tomorrow I can continue with my upstairs rearranging. I'd like that! This morning I was achey again, but not as bad as the day before that.
Thirty minutes 'til Nannie's bedtime. YAY!

Stars that is an odd obsession of hers, wonder if it would stop if you removed it
Tweety glad the hurricane largely missed you
Yesterday wasn't too busy. Did some meal prep before church. After church did the cooking for the week and exercised. Ran an errand to two and watched The Chosen. Pretty quiet and ordinary day
Today hopefully will be OK at work, although we do have someone off today. Will be starting a CEU that I need to complete before renewing the Michigan license next month.
Will be a little cooler today, in the upper 80s, storms expected overnight and tomorrow morning
