Dianah I usually watch Svengoolie up until he does his song, but usually not the whole movie.  And sometimes not at all if it's something not particularly good

Stars sounds like they were hit hard up there in Maine, glad your sister has the power back on

NJ22 glad you're feeling better, and got to see a pileated

Yesterday was quieter for me, made soup before church.  Went to church early as I was assisting.  Stayed pretty late at coffee hour, which was nice.

After church came home and made salmon for Monday, which is a new thing I'm doing.  The rest of the day was quieter, did manage to hit the exercise bike despite being so sore from yesterday.   Watched some more of Outlander and finished the opera

Today is kinda a down feeling day, perhaps disappointment setting in.  It will likely soon pass.  Still have a surprising amount of soreness, and still a sore throat and cough, from Saturday's pickleball.  Not much planned after work except exercise

Will be quite warm today, will get up to the low 70s

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day and feel better.

Ado, enjoy the eclipse.  I worry about my dogs when I'm away too and that time they are at the sitters and I am home alone is weird.  I saw a map of the Air BNB's on the path of the eclipse and it's 100% occupied all across America.  People are really into it.

That's a lot of wash Stars.  Sounds getting your/Nan's house in order is going to take a while.  Glad your in-laws are helping.

I stayed up late and slept late.  Got up around 5AM and tossed and turned some, so got up and fed the dogs.  The two days prior it was 3AM that I was tossing and turning and awake.

The ER delivered an unresponsive patient at shift change last night.  I mean no response to pain, no nothing. We called a Rapid Response and of course it was "he wasn't like that when he left".  It was an odd presentation in that he was found down as a John Doe, but had on nice clothes and expensive Michael Jordan sneakers and was clean.  Nothing in his drug screen, and vital signs rock solid stable, labs stable, nothing on his scans.  They initially thought it might be psych or he's non-verbal autistic.  But they should have ruled out something neuro like a seizure.  Police finger printed him but no record and hopefully by now someone who is missing him has found him.   Anyway off to the nuero unit he went and I fell behind and stayed past 9pm.

Going to relax today on the beach while the partial eclipse is happening.  Should be a nice day.

Geeze, Tweety, the ER delivered you a dead guy? Interesting. "He wasn't like that when he left." Hmmm. Having to stay over until 9 PM.... BUMMER and a HALF!!

Woke up to a case of the galloping crud. Don't know why, and don't appreciate it at all!

Also woke up to a notice on-line that my checking acct is overdrawn by $40. Called BiL and he will have SiL bring me my check (for Nannie-care) ...it will be a week early from when I would usually receive that check, so I better pinch some pennies until the 24th when my SS check comes in ....well, I can get it 2 days early, so the 22nd. Anyway, not a nice notice to get; it was overdrawn due to an automatic W/D for something I didn't realize was on an automatic renewal. UGH. Well, at least I have the option to have BiL give me my "pay" early, so I won't be hanging at a negative balance until the 22nd!

Today is the day the folks come in to do the kitchen floor, the upstairs bathroom floor, and the steps (6 up and 9 down from the kitchen). SiL will be coming over to get Nannie up and dressed, and pay the floor-cleaners. I have to go out to deposit my check, and get essentials like milk and Nannie's cran-apple juice.

Guess I better get up and get dressed.

Hello all!

Joe, what kind of soup did you make?  I hope today is manageable for you.

Tweety, enjoy your day at the beach!  We have several friends who traveled to the viewing area, waiting to see the eclipse.  Bowling tonight (for you)!!

No Stars, too bad about the checking balance.  Those automatic withdrawals can sneak up on a person!  I finally figured out when one particular one was, and now have it on my phone's calendar, so I'm not caught unawares.  I am interested to hear how the floors will turn out after their "makeover" today!

We spent yesterday at Disneyland, for Dapper Day.  It was as enjoyable as ever, such interesting and cool-looking garb!  People are so clever!  But I was ready to go home after supper, and I slept well last night.  This week I have my semi-annual fang cleaning appointment.  And we have a f/u appointment with our insurance agent.  I need to pay a couple bills, and make a check out for the car's registration.  I usually hand-deliver that, to be sure it gets to where it needs to go.

Next month, about this time, we will be heading home from the Parkfield festival!  Looking forward to jamming at that festival!

Rain is over for now, none predicted till the weekend, which will be sandwiched by temperatures in the 80's.  Yup, Spring is here.

Have a good day!

Do you know I could not find an automatic car wash that would take cash...the ones I went to had signs that all said to enter your card, and had no place to put a $10 bill in a slot. Do NOT want to use my card, because I am TRYING to pay it down! I am not thrilled, but oh well. Maybe BiL knows where there is one. The car is dusty green with pollen, but whaddya gonna do? No, I am not going to wash the car myself! I will try the place hubby used to take it, but will have to clean the trash out of the inside to let them clean it inside and out,...... and that kind of depends on what they charge!  It's always SOMETHING! 😳

The guy who came to clean the floors and stairs worked a miracle, but he said we needed to get some floor-stripper to get the edges of the kitchen floor clean. (Where hubby pushed all the wet/dirty Mop'n'Glo with the sponge mop). But the kitchen floor is still MUCH better than it was! Anyway, the upstairs bathroom floor looks brand new now, and the awful, dirty, shaggy, orange carpeting to the downstairs , looks, um, at least a little bit better. 😐 Not much can be done to OLD shag carpeting! Took him 2 hours to do all of it, and I think SiL said he charged $250. But I don't have to pay it, as it comes out of Nannie's account.

SiL took Nannie to her house when I got home and the floors were finished. I am supposed to go over there for supper. She said something about a family-pack of seafood, but from the seafood restaurant they do not usually go to, and I do NOT like their version of fried fish, so SiL said we probably will have pizza. I'd just as soon stay home and nosh from the fridge, but who can pass up a free supper, especially with this week's wallet being so thin?

While I was out, I did not notice the eclipse AT ALL, and we had clear skies for it.  Hmmm. My mind was occupied elsewhere I guess. Good thing I didn't care about seeing the (80%, here) eclipse.

SiL said while I was gone, Nannie brought up her shoes over and over again. I asked SiL how many times she had mentioned them so far today, and she said it was at LEAST 4,286 times! Honestly she is so obsessed with them, enthralled, even! We were rolling our eyes because every time SiL or I said something totally unrelated, Nannie connected whatever was said, back to her SHOES. And she had to make sure we knew she had TWO pairs...one tan and one purple. How can we forget? This has been going on for Nannie for at least 3+ weeks. We don't know when she will 'forget' about the shoes, or IF she EVER will! At least she is happy about them, so that's good.

Time to leave for SiL's house.

Gma complains about her shoes. None make her happy. She blames them for her difficulties with walking. But then she doesn't ever want to take them off, either. And gives me h3ll for going barefoot.

I am tired. But seeing the total eclipse was (totally 😎) worth it. We went to the Caddo National Grasslands and staked out a spot near Coffee Mill Lake. The clouds were thick in the morning and we thought we wouldn't get to see much but it was amazing.
