Tweety glad you're finally able to see Elton  John

Dianah I make vegetable barley soup.

N22 sounds like a nice day

Hi Stars

Quiet day for me yesterday.  Made the soup in the  morning and did laundry.  Watched church online, was a more limited service, as the minister was out with Covid and a replacement couldn't be found  in time

Rest of the day was quiet.  Felt pretty good, hardly had to take any medication. Spent much of today and yesterday reading an old scifi book which I haven't read in years.  Not sure why I got away from reading scifi, perhaps I need to get back into that

Having so much downtime this weekend has been good for me, given me time to reflect on things.  I'm going  to try and  keep that reflection ongoing, rather  than letting day to day concerns gradually distract me from it

Not much going on today except for work.  Will stay isolated until tomorrow.  Glad that I have Friday off

Think it is going to be in the 60s today

Good morning!

Joe, reflection is often a good thing.  I tend to let myself get distracted by social media and other media and not reflect like I should.

The Elton John concert was great.  Hard to believe it was 45 years ago that I first saw him.

Stars, isn't it funny what that Nannie has no filter.  Funny not funny.

I woke up to feed the dogs and between me grinding my teeth and sleeping on the side that had the dental work I had a bad toothache but acetemenophen seems to have taken care of it and I was able to fall back asleep.  Had a weird dream that I was talking to Hunter Biden.   Then another dream I was at the beach and my phone broke in half.

Watching a really good movie in French with subtitles called "Delicious" that I need to finish up today but not much going on.  Bowling tonight.  Two more weeks left.

Good morning all!

Joe, good you have some time to reflect and read.  Both good for your spirit.  Birdwatching soon?

Tweety, good the acetaminophen has helped with the crown work.  Your photos of the concert were great!  (SO. CROWDED!!)  Hope bowling goes well tonight, did you use your ball again, to get used to it??

We had a GREAT time at Disneyland yesterday!  Didn't get to the parks till after 1pm, but it all turned out OK.  Was easy to find parking (no long lines). We walked first to the Expo at the Disneyland Hotel, so spent the first hour or so in air-conditioning.  Wandered the Expo looking at other Dapper Day attendees' garb, and at the booths all set up.  Everything from hats to dresses to shoes to accessories of all kinds, not to mention two booths for hair styling and makeup!  We weren't there for the two times a band played but dh had to check out their bass (left on the stage between sets).  There were also two vintage cars on display, for photo ops.  Lots of fun!

Then we walked over to the parks and spent the day doing same: walking!!  We caught a couple of bands (none of our friends was playing, unfortunately), then wandered over to California Adventure.  We ate at Storytellers, located in the Grand Californian Hotel.  It's a buffet, and ALWAYS good.  Very fresh salad choices, and they even had a Beyond meatball as part of their entree selections!

We wandered through the boardwalk area, and then headed back to Disneyland park, and watched part of the Main Street Electrical Parade, which had just started April 22!

We left around 9:30.  13,770 steps, 4.81 miles walked.  ?  Our next reserved day is 5/16, a Monday.  Of course, that will NOT be Dapper Day, but (depending on the temperature) we may go dapper anyway!

Looking across the water (where World of Color is performed), from the boardwalk.  To the right is a restaurant, left is Ariel ride.

Next, a couple photos of the rides and lights.

Next, a photo of the Carthay Circle restaurant, flanked by palm trees.

Then a little iris (?) I spotted, amongst the ferns, by the raft ride.

Then, that's us, all dapper! ?

Evening all!

Joe, have you read anything by Andy Weir? The book The Martian is waaaayyyy better than the movie and The Hail Mary Project was pretty good too.

Tweety, are you sure those were regular acetaminophen pills? ? Maybe there were some even more odd dreams if those are the ones you remember!

dianah, I'm probably going to make you faint - I've never been to Disney!

Lucky me has angered the bots of the book of faces and I have bought myself a 29 day restriction... I may find myself with a lot more free time to get myself into trouble elsewhere! Rose, sad about the posting restriction!  I mean, they asked, so you told 'em!!  Disneyland is an acquired taste, no worries. ?

LIFE LESSON #84502/

Nothing much exciting today, but LAST NIGHT I come sure nuf' damn close of choking to death. I belched while lying down on my left side, and junk came up my esophagus and spilled over into my trachea. Couldn't breath in, sat up and grabbed the small plastic-bag lined wastebasket, leaned over it attempting to expel the crap...hubby yells 'are you okay?' and I couldn't even get enough breathe in to say "NO!"...3x! About had decided I'd have to Heimlich myself, so I was pressing my crossed arms under my boobs and pushed fists into the diaphragm area. Hubby comes in to room and says 'should I call the ambulance?'. By then I'd managed to expel the blop of whatever the hell it was, and began coughing in earnest to get the irritating , trying-to-be-helpful mucous membrane fluids which were trying their dead-level best, wanting to wash out the irritation...and after a bit too long of that uncontrollably propelling coughing, I got enough breath to tell him that as long as I'm breathing, I'm okay.

Odd how I wasn't scared when I realized I could not take in a breath, that my trachea was blocked. "Guess I should Heimlich myself..." The worst of it all was all the darn coughing, which I could not stop. The trachea was saying GET THIS IRRITATION OUT OF ME! After a while things calmed down and I was able to go to sleep without any further problems.

The moral of this story is don't eat 3 Oreo lemon thins and one of those disgustingly sweet M&M brownies from Little Cesar's pizza place and a full glass of ice-cold milk, and then think it's okay to just lay down to sleep.

Earlier and lighter snacking is the new bedtime snack. Then I will put the brakes on the old mouth well before going to bed.

Um....I kinda forgot to mention that before the Oreo's, etc, I had eaten a banana. So, I kind of had a 'smoothie' without putting the ingredients into a blender, maybe? Well, I know now that can't cram the gut full, and then lay down, so I must live by my recently unpleasantly gained knowledge.

But all's well that ends well, and at least it wasn't another surprise volcanic expulsion of the bowels! Amen.

OMG Stars, I'm glad you're OK!

I deleted my post last night because I put it on last Monday's thread (I'm having a very ADHD week, as I described in said post). In it, I told how at the conference, I had for the 2nd time in a week an episode of aspiration that led to vomiting (all those helpful secretions). I think I need to slow down my eating/drinking. The choking is pretty common for me. Occasional reflux, too, though that is better with daily omeprazole.
