Hey guys!
I wanted to start a thread for anyone else applying to Molloy’s accelerated dual degree program for Fall 2020.
I also wanted to share that I spoke to an admissions representative and learned that they are now requiring the ATI TEAS for admission. The Nelson Denny and math screening are no longer being given.
Please reach out if you’re applying too!

I sent my deposit into molloy and am looking forward to the program. I have spoken to so many people who have nothing but great things to say about the program. Best of luck!
That’s great to hear thanks for answering! I think SBU is my first choice because of cost and it’s what I researched/spent more effort on. The whole interview process really ramps up the desire to go there! Got a little more excited about being accepted to Molloy and will definitely be happy for the opportunity!

Hey! So I was wait-listed at SBU and now can dedicate my energy towards the Molloy process. I emailed admissions because honestly their prerequisite requirements are very foggy/vague. What’s the exact timeline for completion since they refer to it as “accelerated”?

I think that accelerated refers more to the masters program because you can start taking masters classes during the second year of study. I have a bachelors degree already and am transferring in about 98 credits. They sent me the classes I would need to take to finish my degree and it is 17 nursing classes and 1 English class due to not scoring high enough in the TEAS test English portion. It should take me 2 years to finish those classes which includes a Summer session of 2 classes. I don’t know how long to program takes if you do not have all the prereqs.
Hey - has everyone here taken CHE 1120? I'm having a minor meltdown because I was under the impression the only Chemistry prereq was basic chem. From what I'm reading on the catalog.. it is definitely ORGANIC Chem!! Missing that would set me back a full semester because it's a prereq for most nursing classes. I'm trying to scramble to find a place to take a Summer organic chem class at. Any ideas?
Admissions told me Nassau CC's equivalent was CHE 135 which isn't even called organic - it's "Chemistry for applied sciences." And then Suffolk would be CHE 120 or 200.
I was really hoping to finish Molloy in exactly 2 years.
Hey guys! So the CHE 112 course is really just a basic intro to organic and biochemistry for nursing majors. The “true” organic Chemistry at Molloy is CHE 200, so don’t take orgo at another school over the Summer! I would definitely call the school and see what will satisfy the requirement, because it’s only a 100 level Chemistry class.
With all or most of the prerequisites completed before the start of the program, the BSN should be exactly two years. I’m unsure about how long the NP portion is.

Weird, I was in touch with admissions and they said my CHM 111 (fairly basic entry Chem) and said I’d need their CHE1120 still. We’ll see!

So that course (CHM 111) is probably most comparable to a basic general Chemistry, but the CHE 112 is likely more of a fundamentals of organic/biochemistry for nursing. I know someone taking CHE 112 and it seems pretty easy. You should look into whether or not you can take it at Molloy over this Summer!
