MLA help

We just started doing the pathophysiology of our care plans and we have to write a summary of whatever diagnosis the patient has for that week. We can copy word for word from our textbooks. But I was wondering when do you put the book name and page number? Is at at the end of each paragraph, the end of your summary, or after each sentence? My gf says at the end of each sentence, but that seems like alot of extra ink. Is that the correct way?

Hmm - I just question whether you truly want MLA. Most nursing programs use APA.

You'll never go wrong if you put quotation marks around a direct quote and give credit to whoever wrote it. However, it's not that hard to paraphrase something. If you also pull information off the Internet and add to it, then you don't have to worry about all this.

If you are supposed to reference using MLA style then I would strongly recommend that you buy the current edition of the MLA guide. Part of your grade will depend on formatting your papers correctly. One of the things I had a number of professors tell me over the years was that part of the college experience was also about following directions. It may seem inconsequential, but I was told that in all life and all subsequent jobs, one's worth is being able to switch up and change as the directions for projects changed.
