At the very worst they will suspend your privileges and rework (Add time) to your contract. While I agree that caring for a sick loved one, especially one not able to care for themselves (Not sure if this is your mom's case) is important the BON will not see it that way. What they will see is that you neglected your contract and the way they see it your license doesn't mean enough to you. The only mandate the BON serves is Public Safety. I have been where you are with sick loved one's and when my father was dying a BON rep told me that missing a check-in would not have changed my father's outcome. What I finally did to ensure I never missed a check in was to set my alarm on Midnight and had the check in number on speed dial. The alarm would sound and I would roll over a call then go back to sleep. If it said I had to test then I knew to eat a high protein breakfast and lunch and limit water to the bare minimum to reduce the risk of dilute urine.
If you have to explain yourself to your BON or enforcement committee do not make any excuses (They hate that) just admit complete responsibility in missing the check ins and have a plan that will eliminate missed check ins in the future. While in these programs we are not allowed to be human and the only way to get through them is to do exactly as you are told.

I also have an alarm set. I have never needed the alarm, but, I can see how it can happen and I am sorry you are going through this.
I am over 2 years into a 3 year contract and I still check several times a day, and once and awhile get that little panic of "did I check in?". I have no idea what I will do when this is over, when I do not have to worry about checking in all the time!
Good luck to you and I wish you and your Mom well!

My Mom has been very sick with Covid and I missed checking in two days in a row.
What do you think will happen?
