Missed the call!!

Published

I just can't believe it. I passed the NCLEX in June and have been applying ever since. I haven't even gotten a single call. Until this past Monday morning, that is.

We had to take a last minute trip out of town this past week. We left on Sunday and got back on Friday at 5:00. We checked the messages on our home phone when we got back and there was a message from HR saying they wanted to interview me and to call her ASAP.

I just can't believe I missed the ONE call that I received and I didn't respond to her all week. I tried to call Friday evening, but of course, there was no answer. I plan to call her back first thing Monday AM, but I'm thinking I'll be too late.

I updated my resume when I found out we were going out of town and uploaded it to the hospitals where I applied, but I guess she had my older resume that just had my home phone and email addy.

Ugh...I won't lie. I'm pretty upset. :(

I would change your contact # to your cell. This way you will not miss the call or at least get back to someone right away. Definitely call her back - You never know, they may not have decided on the position or have something else. Just explain you were away on vacation.

Good Luck to you!!!

I am so sorry. But I guess this is a little lesson when you are waiting for phone calls about job opertunities have a way to check your messages while being away from your phone. Especially if it is for any length of time like 5 days. Give them your cell phone and emails and check them daily. I as well say at least call on Monday. Perhaps they can squeeze you in on a last minute interview before they make their choice on who gets the job.

Since I did update my resume w/ my cell phone number, I had it on me the whole week and checked it neurotically. lol Same with email, that was always on my resume. I just totally overlooked the part that they could have an outdated resume and would call the house, so I never thought to check my home messages.

Definitely learned my lesson.

We will see what happens tomorrow AM.
