I've heard of schools like that. We can make up clinicals, but we can still only miss 2 per semester, which I think is pretty lenient.
Just try not to get sick. Or, if you do, be respectful and call your instructor before clinical time so she's not wondering where you are. Usually if you're responsible they will work with you.
Kicked out after missing two clinicals -- we were allowed to miss one. Clinicals are a major part of nursing school & the person you interviewed with gave you a clear picture of the program's expectations. Inevitably, life happens -- students may have to miss many classes/clinicals -- will just have to repeat the semester. Some students will believe it is fair, others will not. Some instructors will be fair, others will not. But that's life. Go in with a positive attitude, come prepared to class, go for help if you need it -- and you will do great. Good luck to you.

anyone else have this at thier school ? (at this school you can't make up clinicals ) is this the norm ?
thanks for listening
I think we could only miss one as well.
Never missed any so it wasn't an issue.
If you think school is strict, try working for a hospital.

Basically that when you start working as a nurse - you will be entitled to "sick" time but never actually get to use it
Nurses are not permitted to be ill.
