Hello everyone!!
I am creating this thread to connect with others in the same boat as I. I recently applied to Mira Costa and Palomar College. My experience with Mira Costa was completely different from Palomar. The representative at Mira Costa opened my application in front of me. To make sure all was there😊. Im already so nervous and this is just day 1 of waiting for 2 months. Feel free to share your experience, points, worries, advice(from students already accepted in the RN program)
Good luck to us all 😄
Hi Jameee,
From what I took away from people I asked, MCC is more lax than Palomar, but both are highly regarded programs. For me, I wanted a more lax atmosphere and that's why I went with MCC. So far after 3 weeks I really like the program. I think the rest of my cohort would agree they made a great choice. The teachers are highly skilled nurses and are always willing to help. I would not stress too much about what program to attend; you'll have enough to stress about while in the program. What I realized is, that a nursing program is a nursing program and you'll get out of it what you put in! Study ALOT. Work as least as possible. The material isn't hard to learn, just VERY time consuming. Best of luck! Stay positive. All will fall into place. :)
Hey ollie! I got accepted to both... I am leaning towards Mira Costa.. I was wondering if you could tell me what the schedule is like so far.. And if you know where the clinicals are at?
Hi Jmeee,
If you started one of the programs this semester would you mind sharing your experience? I applied to both Palomar and MiraCosta for fall 2017. I have 86 points for MiraCosta and 83/84 for Palomar. I'm leaning towards MiraCosta if I get acceptance but would love to hear more about either program from anyone who may still be following this thread :)
Thanks!
I also created another thread for Palomar/MiraCosta applicants for Fall 2017. If you're like me, you've been stalking all of the old threads! Haha
