I applied for the SSM FUTURES Program back in February of this year. It is supposed to begin sometime in June. I have not received a call back and only an email that states I am being considered for the positions. My application says it is still being processed by HR on the website. I have started applying to other positions. Is it safe to assume that I won't be getting a call from the FUTURES Program? Has anyone received a call from them that has applied?

I am so lost and it seems like no one is hiring new grads in the St. Louis area right now. :(

Are you graduating in May? If so, don't sweat it just yet! A lot of my fellow students were hired by SSM, and some of them didn't find out until much later. I think even a couple in May and June. It may not be exactly what you want to hear, but those that didn't get hired last summer all got hired in the fall. I heard that it was the same case the year before that as well. Take a deep breath, St. Louis has sooooo many hospitals, it will happen, and you will get there! Trust me, I have seen a lot of my fellow students needlessly go through the same anxiety and stress, and all were employed by October. Good luck!

this is so reassuring to read! I guess I just feel so lost! But nothing is clear cut in nursing school... So I guess I shouldn't expect it to be any different in the nursing career world! I'll still keep my fingers crossed for SSM! If not June, then no harm in trying again for fall :) again, thanks for the reassuring words!

Haha! This is so funny! I've been putting the same thing in google for the last 3 months trying to find SOMEONE in the same boat as me! I finally found you! :)

You and me both!!! It is very stressful! I wish they would send us SOMETHING! Instead of having us wait around for 3 months! It's sooo nerve wracking! But I will keep you updated! I hope others will also see this post and provide some helpful info! :)

Have you contacted them since you submitted the resume? I called about 3 weeks after and was told I was still being considered and that they were still going over applications. That was about 3 weeks ago. Now I feel like I've used up my one follow-up phone call so I can't call again and ask about the timeline!

But if you haven't called yet, you might be able to! What do you think?

I think I might! Did you just call HR and ask about the status of the application? I'll ask when we should expect to hear if we are invited for an interview or not. I'll probably call tomorrow! Fingers crossed!

Yes, I just called the number in one of the emails that (I think) is the main HR number. It will usually patch you through to leave a message. I left a message with my name and said I was wondering the status. The problem was I missed their call-back and they just left me a message saying I was still being considered and that they were still looking at applications so I couldn't ask for a timeline.

Hi! I'm sorry! I forgot to post! I just called on Friday around 3. They said that I am still being considered and they have just started phone interviews. The head recruiter is supposed to call me on Monday? I'm not sure what that means. But basically the lady said they are a little behind with the hiring process this time around.

That's great news for you! Good to know they haven't made any final decisions yet.
