I applied for the SSM FUTURES Program back in February of this year. It is supposed to begin sometime in June. I have not received a call back and only an email that states I am being considered for the positions. My application says it is still being processed by HR on the website. I have started applying to other positions. Is it safe to assume that I won't be getting a call from the FUTURES Program? Has anyone received a call from them that has applied?
I am so lost and it seems like no one is hiring new grads in the St. Louis area right now.
Oh man! She did say there were only a couple of recruiters so that it might take awhile. I'm not sure if we'll get a call that sets up a phone interview or just the phone interview our of the blue!
I'm carrying around my notes with me just in case. I'm so bad at phone interviews!
Crossing fingers for tomorrow!
Katja508,
I talked to someone who works at SSM today as a tech. She applied to FUTURES and she said they first hire all their internal applicants first (such as techs, etc) and that they will start on external in a few weeks. So apparantly we still have some time. So fingers crossed! We still have plenty of time! :)
I applied for the futures program I graduated in December. It takes a while for them to get back with you...like months. You will get an email asking you to schedule a phone interview. The phone interview was weird because they asked me a nursing scenario question. So be prepared. I ended up going with a position in the NICU at Childrens. A friend of mine went through with it and you dont have any true input on where you end up going. They assign you a floor. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Mswalker, RN,
Thank you for your input! I have heard that they assign you a floor as well, which I am not so ecstatic about, but it is better than being unemployed I suppose :/ ... That is awesome that you have a job at Children's! Congrats! I job shadowed there last fall and loved both the NICU and PICU! I am hoping to end up in Peds eventually. :) I have heard that BJC will not accept applications until after you pass your boards nowadays...which kind of sucks... But it seems that it is just a huge waiting game everywhere you apply. Did you have any tech/RN experience before landing your job at Children's?

Hear anything, amichelle? I called (I couldn't wait!) and they told me I was still being considered but that's really it.
