A new hire at our out-state hospital graduated from the U of M with a BSN, and then couldn't find a hospital that was hiring! She came back home, and are always hiring (it seems).
Is it true that there is no shortage in the Cities?

To my knowledge there are plenty of hospitals hiring. The shortage may not be as bad as some regions? Not sure about that? But that would be odd to hear that hospitals are not hiring?
Does anyone else have any input?

Maybe it depends on the specialty area?

I am relocating from Maine to the Twin Cities(coming back home actually) and was told by a friend there that the market was saturated with new grads(?),unless you have a specialty. The web pages sure are full of jobs- unless they are all for internal hire only? Thankfully I have an interview, I hope it produces something. Maine has practically a Statewide hiring freeze I have tried for4 months to get a hospital job to no avail! So we are packing up and coming home!
Welcome home!
Bre,
Welcome home and good luck with your interview!
Thanks! Just finished the interview, should hear in about a week. Have another one for Regions at 3:30 today. In the meantime I'm packing boxes!
Just got a job! I will be starting in the PICU at ch. St. Paul. I am so looking foreward to getting back to Minnesota. I am pretty psyched about the position too, I was a nursing asst. there while in nursing school.
Congrats!

Well if the cities aren't needing nurses....move on down to Rochester!!!! MMC always seems to have openings.
