Minneapolis School of Anesthesia

Hello! Has anyone applied for the program for the fall start of 2016? I applied and have not heard anything yet :-/

During my interview it was stated that we can expect to hear back late February, possibly early March. I'll be sure to let everyone know when I hear something. Best of luck!

They initially told me the same in the interview but I emailed the school today and they said the committee will be meeting the beginning of March and will send out letters late March.

They haven't even met yet?!

I understand they have to get a bunch of busy professionals together to make selections, but this is killing me!

Thank you. I have been waiting to hear back as well.

Just emailed them asking where they are in the process and they said we should receive a letter next week! Ahh good luck everyone

I got my letter today and was placed on the alternate list. Does anyone have any idea how many people are placed as alternates?

Best of luck to everyone still waiting to hear!

I received a letter that I was accepted. Anyone else accepted? I am not quite sure how many are on the wait list. A coworker once said about 10 but I do not know for sure. I am sure they would say where you are on the waiting list of you asked. Best of luck. Hope to see you this fall!

Alternate list for me here as well. It was such an odd interview. Very refreshing from other interviews, but I'm not sure how they could use that particular interview to qualify anyone. In my interview, we talked about the weather, hobbies, Minnesota, the school, and family. I think there was some talk about hockey as well. I felt very comfortable and confident, but I guess they didn't like whatever it is they were looking for. I'm fortunate to have been accepted to other programs, but I was very hopeful to be accepted to MSA. Perhaps they will still call if someone else turns down their spot. I'm going to email (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME - PLEASE DO NOT POST NAMES OF THOSE IN YOUR PROGRAM PER TOS) and see if there is an order to the alternate list. I'll post my findings here.

I was placed on the alternate list as well.

I agree the interview was refreshing, I was so used to being bombarded with clinical questions that it was nice to just sit and chat, although it did make it difficult to gauge how well it went.

I have heard that if you interview and are not accepted you are placed in the alternate pool with everyone else and then applications are reviewed if an opening becomes available... so the pool would be roughly 30 of us? Things may have changed, I heard this a while ago from people applying before me. I'll be interested to see what you learn!

Just got another letter from Minneapolis SOA. They had a spot open up and extended me the offer. If anyone on this thread was accepted, send me your contact info! You can reach me at clintgebert @ yahoo . com or text/call at 9 7 9 - 2 0 4 - 8 9 9 4

Congrats! I'm sitting on the alternate list at the moment. May I ask the date of the reply deadline?

Thanks!
