  1. Awesome - that's what I was hoping to hear haha. I'm assuming you go to MSA? If so, how are you liking the program so far? Any other tips or anything you wished you knew before school? Thanks for replying!
  2. I know this may be a stupid question but did you actually read/use your textbooks in CRNA school? I'm asking because it's time to buy books and I want to make sure it's worth the thousands of dollars. If you did use your textbooks, would you recommend buying them (I would buy them used of course) or renting them? I never used my nursing textbooks after the class was finished and I didn't use them to study for the boards. In my nursing school, tests were based off of what my teachers taught (i.e. their powerpoints and lectures and not so much directly from the book). I know CRNA school is a whole different ballgame but thought it didn't hurt to ask! I'll be going to the Minneapolis School of Anesthesia this fall so if anyone currently in the program or an alumni could respond, that would be awesome! Thank you!
  3. Just emailed them asking where they are in the process and they said we should receive a letter next week! Ahh good luck everyone
  4. Has anyone heard anything yet? The wait is killing me!
  5. Good luck to you two! Post if you hear anything about interviews :)
  6. The admissions rep has been really helpful! I'm not applying to Clarkson. Bryan College is my number one choice so far, and I'm still doing research on other schools. Keep in touch for when possible interview times get closer! Good luck to you!
  7. Thanks, NebraskanNurse! How are you liking the program? Do you think it's a good program/prepares their students well? What is a typical student like (in terms of type of ICU experience, GPA, etc.)? Thanks for taking the time to answer!
  8. Hello! I'm considering applying to Bryan College of Health Sciences School of Nurse Anesthesia in Lincoln, NE this fall. I'm wondering if any alumni or current students can give any insight into the program and what the interview was like? Any information will be highly appreciated. Thank you!
  9. Sapphire18, what specialties are you looking at? I've been searching to figure out what I want to go into, too! I'm pretty sure I want to become a CRNA, and I've even narrowed down specific CRNA programs that I'll apply to (eventually). But for some reason I'm still looking up programs haha...
  10. Thanks guys! I agree, my qualifications summary is a little redundant as you read down. I put it there and highlighted what I want to show off most, in case the manager doesn't read everything. I also agree that people know what a TA and CNA does. I'll take some of the bullet points out, or find a way to make it shorter. I was debating on taking off "College Student Worker" as well but some of my best references will come from my supervisors from those jobs, which is why I decided to keep it. I'm assuming the nursing manager would want to know what job my references are referring to. Thoughts? I'm a little hesitant on taking out the bullet lists under the volunteer section. Shouldn't I write the basics of what I did in each volunteer experience? However, if I do that, I actually have more volunteer experience that I could add...hmm... Thanks, again! All the help is appreciated!
  11. Hi guys! I'm a nervous new grad hoping for some help on my resume. I've already gotten some help from my college's career center, which I was grateful for, but they weren't nurses. If anyone could go over my resume, it would be much appreciated! If any nurse managers could look over it, I would be forever grateful! For some reason my computer won't let me attach it as a word document so I'm just going to copy and paste it here...if anyone would like it as a microsoft word document, let me know and I'll e-mail it to you! In the word document format, it is one page, 10 font Times New Roman. The name is 13 font. The locations and dates for each experience is spaced out on the document. I'm just letting you know cause it looks much better in a word document haha. Thanks for any help!
