Minimal Nursing Experience for CPNE

Published

Hello everyone, i'm new to this site. is there anyone out there that has passed cpne with out much nursing experience? i'm a sorta new lpn (almost two years). i was layed-off a few days shy of my one year anniversary, which was the 1st week of october 2010. i haven't done anything related to nursing except read. i'm still not working. just finished all my theory exams and fcca will be on it's way in the mail 5/13/11. i'm very postive i can do cpne but i just wonder about not having natural instincts to fall back on and people skills. i have skills kit, dvd, wound, workbook and plan to attend workshop. please post your experiences or comments. i would really appreciate it.

When Excelsior started their distance nursing program, when they were still known as Regents, people did not have to have a background in healthcare. There were people who literally walked in off the street, so to speak, and passed the CPNE.

Specializes in homecare, rehab,sub acute.

You will be fine, your a LPN and regardless of your experience EC wants you to do things their way so not working in patient care setting might work in your favor in regards to CPNE. Study hard and Good Luck to you.

I can't wait till i'm in your shoes. :)
