i was offered a job as a military nurse. but before that i have to survive the rigorous 8 month training!

so what do you think? should i pursue it? during the 8 month long training we are not allowed to leave the camp's premises or even allowed to have contact with the outside world no cellphones no internet. I really want to take advantage of the opportunity but, 8 months without contact with your friends and family? i think its hard. as of the moment i'm still pondering, should i take it or let it go? please give me your insights. thanks

thanx.... ur reply is very much appreciated....

Go to Camp Aguinaldo and look for building Bulwagan Valdez, that is the building where the Army Nurse Corop is located. The office is in the 2nd floor according to my sister. But the location may change since my sister resigned more than two years ago. Best of luck!

I work with military nurses on a daily basis and I can say that being a military nurse is not a joke. That is why I preffered staying as a civilian nurse in a military health institution. The training is really tough. When you enter the service you'll be a probationary 2nd leutenant, meaning you are the junior of all juniors. All the 2Lt,1Lt, Cpt and everyone above will be your seniors, meaning they have more authority than you so they can sort of order you to do things and you cannot complain especially if it is a work related task. Seniority is well-regarded. It is true that there are restrictions when you are in training. They were not allowed to go outside of the camp but you can still pretty much communicate with the outside world because they allow use of cellphones. After you pass the training, you will be promoted to 2Lt and will be deployed anywhere in the Philippines. You cannot choose a place where you want to be deployed. Most of the military nurses I know are very nice people, but ofcourse there are also some who are very rank conscious. Military nurses are one of the most highly paid nurses in the Phil. They earn more because they have greater responsibility also. They are like "on duty 24/7"

Wow.. cool. I want to try but I can't leave my family. But if I have nothing to think of but myself, I'd really go for that.

... Reminds me also of Pearl Harbor. Teehee.

Are nurses here supposed to have very short haircut?

is it true that you will not be accepted as a military nuse if you're wearing eyeglasses?

My dad work on the airforce base and he was in the dental area but my dad was army.. Actually if you have a college degree any college degree you can apply for an officer in the military...You can be Lieutenant or sergeant depending on the position that you are qualified....

If your doctor you can be a captain.. Mostly you'll be assigned in camps, military hospital, base....

You still have basic military training.. You are part of the Military so you have to go through anyone has to go through...

YOu can go to any bases and ask for application...

You'll be officer and you have good benefits when u retire.. and you dont really have to go to combat... cause your in the medical field....

US military has recruitment also every 3 months or 6 months some recruiters coming to the philippines... IF you undergone military training you can apply on what job you wanna go to..

I always dreamt of becoming a military nurse, but I didn't pursued it for personal reasons. My dad is a retired naval officer also. My mother discouraged me because she has worked with military nurses during the past and if you don't have any backers, you will be assigned anywhere, including Mindanao. It is an adventure, definitely, but if I will be kidnapped by the break-away group of **** or Abu-Sayyaf (who kidnapped Red Cross Volunteers, who were supposed to have IMMUNITY!!!!!), I would think twice.

is it true that you will not be accepted as a military nuse if you're wearing eyeglasses?

Yes, i think so because one of the applicant was rejected when she told the civilian employee that she's wearing eyeglasses..

its in boni serrano ave., quezon city..near santolan station (LRT)..you can go there every monday or tuesday if im not mistaken..

yup..girls are required to cut their hair short (barber's or clean cut)...

you should be in corporate attire when u pass the requirements (tor, board rating certificate, prc license, resume, diploma)..they also have height requirements: for female atleast 5ft and male must be 5'4 in height...if im not mistaken, you are not qualified if you're wearing eyeglasses.. hope this helps..
