Just started Grand Canyon University. 100% online. No clinicals--EVER. Each semester is 5 weeks long. No set times when you have to "check in" but we do have 2 discussion questions each week (at least for the 1st course) and one has to reply to others posts 2 in 1 day--at least 3 times each week--which is not hard to do!! I guess 1 of the negative parts is that each course (except for stats) has group projects, which can be a good or a bad thing---most would say bad as there always seems to be 1 slacker, lol
Only started the first course, onto week 2, and so good so far, but it is probably the easiest course of the whole program! I like the fact that all your books are online (you pay a flat fee of I think $110 each course, and it covers all the books for it) I'm doing the course from Nicaragua!! Cheers
For active duty military, check out Excelsior College - regionally and nationally accredited. They charge active duty $250 per credit hour, even for graduate programs. They are one of the most military-friendly schools. They pushed my annual enrollment fee back by 10 months because I'm deployed. I used my tuition assistance for a lot of it with no hassles - I just had to register for classes through GoArmyEd's website and they took care of the $$$ - too easy! Most schools will give a military discount, but not as many lower it to $250/credit, which is the highest TA will pay. Feel free to hit me up with any questions.

Hi,
here is my situation:
I am an Independent Duty Corpsman (NEC 8425) who happens to be an RN, too.
I have a German nursing diploma and hold an active RN license in CA.
Currently I am stationed in VA.
And here is what I am looking for:
100% online RN to BSN program, that is affordable, accredited, and allows me to go at my own pace (due to military commitments).
I am looking for a program that does not require any current employment as a nurse, since I cannot work off-duty or any clinical rotation/requirements.
If anyone is in the same boat or knows sound online RN to BSN programs and can report from his/her own experience, please post your thoughts. Also, if you personally have experienced "bad" programs, please tell me what was "bad" and what school it was.
Thanks for any input.
