Hello, I was wondering if anyone who has went to Mildred Elley's in NYC info session, taking the exam, can please give me more insight on the program? I called ACICS to make sure they were an accrediting school , and they are. Yes, it's true, they are currently an extension of the Albany school and are accredited. That out of the way. How was the exam? Difficult? What areas should I focus on studying? I took the entrance exam at SW Boces and failed bad in the reading comprehension part and I am very nervous. Any and all info is appreciated. Thanks.

Really. Thanks because about 11yrs back I took my pre-req at LaGuardia CC and was accepted into the nursing program. However, I dropped after entering, first semister due to the unfortunate... Question. How long are my credits goood for? I have about 24 credits. You think I should apply to LaGuardia CC LPN program? I know their very competitive now. Then my GPA was 3.0 for my Pre-req including Biochemistry, and A&PI. I didn't complete A&PII. Did I mention my new found phoebia of exams....lol. I took an emtrance exam for SW Boces and failed the reading comprehension part badly. I knew I didnt do well however not as bad as I did. My overall percentile was 57. Someone who got a 61 percentile got in and that kinda messed me up. I'm focused again and figured to start slower (I'm not young anymore, lol). I found this place, New Age Training that seems as though they accept assistance (workforce1). I was gonna give it a shot after I complete CNA. Have you heard of them? Thanks again for taking time out to help me. Appreciations. to the AllNurses staff..

You will have to inquire, but, I believe (am not SURE, but BELIEVE) that after 5-10 years, certain courses such as the sciences would have expired, and this, of course would include the anatomy course you took at LaGuardia. The best way to obtain your answers would be to visit the school and speak to a guidance counselor...they should be able to pull up what you earned in the CUNY system. Also, you probably took the CUNY entrance exams already, so, you should be exempt from repeating them again. Yes, that program is competitive, but see how many courses you need to take before applying for candidacy. Never heard of New Age Training. Good luck!

mildred elly is a scam do not go there they are extremely expensive especially for the lpn program. they are all about the money!! the program in Albany ny charges like 20000 boces is shorter 9-10 mths and 10000 cheaper so you do the math! Plus there are programs in nyc for like $3000 approved by the state cause last i heard mildred elly's program isnt even accredited

Hey. Just thought I'd shed some light on Mildred Elley. I went to their information session on Monday and had my Compass Exam today. It's really, really, simple. You have to score a 240 to get into the LPN Program and I got a 308. If I can do it anyone can. Their tuition is typically 29000 for the LPN and the program runs for 16-18 months.. However because of college courses I already took I was able to get fast tracked and the program will only take 10 months and cost 17000.. I start in November..

Just wanted to share..

Hi Coug113. Congrats on getting accepted. May I ask do they accept financial aid, grants, or must you take out a loan? Also how long is the info session? And how long after the season is your exam date? I have college credits;math English bio anatomy n phys.. However they are 11 years old. Do you know if they would be accepted and could intake it in the fast track program? All info is appreciated. Thanks.

they offer financial aid, loans, grants, and sholarship.the info session is not really long, mostly tell u about the program, and give u a tour of the school, well thas how they did it when i applied in march.u cannot transfer your credits because they are too old, its up to ten years for english and psy, and 3 years for A&P 1 and A&P2,and BIO...i dont know if they change the rules now since i started in may, but best advice is for u to go and get all the info and make up ur mind...goodluck

Hi I wanted to know if your were admitted to Mildred Elley?

Hi-

I went to ME for an information session. The 2 front desk clerk were unprofessional, I said good morning and no response. The Admission Rep was 15mins late. for my appt. I was told the LPN pgm only has 60 seats. You will have to take about 8 classes as a pre-requisite. If you do not get better than a B-, you may or may not be accepted in the LPN pgm b/c you are competing for a seat. The tuition is $29k.

Wow. Thanks for the information. Im looking to get more information about this school. I have a meeting with an admissions counselor tomorrow. 29K is alot just for LPN. I have a bachelor's degree in Science. Do you know if they take credits from other institutions and also how much transferrable credit do they accept?

How did your info session go?
