Working ER is exciting, but also very stressful..considering a change. Lately, we've been so snowed under by patients I am fearing for my license and patient's lives daily due to the non-stop stream that keeps coming through the door(EVEN WHEN WE ARE ON DIVERT!).
I would like to do something which like ER is varied but with a smaller amount of patients, does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
Maisy;)

Urgent Care.
I bailed entirely and went into home health. Best move I ever made.

Try working at a fast-paced rehab hospital. Plenty of skills, less patients than the typical ER, and the patients are often thankful for the care being provided.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

The Nicu can be fast-paced and challenging. We see a lot of the same type of pts., but you might like it. We only have 1-3 pts. maximum where I work.
I couldn't stand ER in nursing school, way too hectic. Sorry to hear it's been difficult for you...I understand.
