Midwestern University CRNA class of 2016

Published

Has anyone applied to midwestern university crna program? can anyone give hints on the program's interview experience for the class of 2015 that just started? Thanks.

Well I called them and was told that no one has dropped yet and no alternates have been selected. There are apparently 24 people on the alternate list so it doesn't look good for people on the alternate list.

Anybody know how much money in deposit they require to confirm your spot if you are accepted?

The matriculation deposit is $750

Thanks. Applying later in the year...

I definitely wouldn't wait too long to apply to this school. They say rolling admissions, but that really means that once applications open, they do interviews every few weeks until the class is full. Last year I applied around this time, interviewed in Aug. The year before I applied in Oct and was too late. They told us that they get a ridiculous amount of applications, like 6000 or something. Probably partly because it's an easy application process (no GRE, no letters, no essay). I would call down and see when applications open back up.

I got an invitation to interview. My interview date is set for August 9th.

My interview is scheduled for July 19th! I have 2 years cardiac experience and one year ICU. I took the CCRN last month and was certified- hope this helps boost my chances, as i know many who are accepted have much more experience (like yourself). I am super nervous I won't be comfortably prepared for the interview questions as I am taking a general chemistry course, working full time, and (married) raising 2 kids 8)

Good luck Murse_1988! Maybe we will be in class together next summer!

Thank you! Good luck on your interview as well! A little bit about myself; I have been a nurse for 7 years, with 5 of those as a Navy nurse. All being in ICU. I am also married with 2 kids.

I am also interviewing on July 19th! See you this week! Good luck!! :)

How detailed were you all when answering the background questions regarding your critical care experiences at your work? I don't know if they are looking for a quick tidbit like you would find on a job application or if they are looking for a story or something like that. Thanks!
