Midwestern State University spring 2015 hopeful

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I have finally gotten everything situated with my classes and GPA to FINALLYYYY apply! I am sending in my application this week, just finished up my chem class with a B thank god. I have a 3.0 GPA for my prerequisites and about 60 to 63 points. What do you think my chances are for getting in? When I talked to my advisor she said if I got a B in chem then I should have no problem but my worrying self doesn't want to wait that long to see. And how long did it take for a response. Application deadline is August 15th. Any helpful advise would be appreciated!!

Thank you Jade! I have a question, so basically if you have enough points above the cut off you get in? Also, how do you like Midwestern so far?

Yes. Am liking it so far. I had 68 points but initially I was waitlisted , I called them because I knew my points, I think there was an error, so I was taken off the waiting list.

I fell in love with midwestern when I first visited their campus two years ago and made it my target school. Although it's a five semester program but I am where my heart is, am enjoying every bit of it. Good luck to you, I hope u get in as well.

I still have to take chemistry next semester I am currently taking microbiology and Patho I am so nervous about these last three classes I was going to apply to their accelerated program but I think I'm just gonna wait and do the long one. To ensure I passed everything and I'll fill out of the program. The accelerated program seems like it would be too much to take in 4 semesters

No acceptances yet?

Any info on when acceptances will be out.

Acceptance will be sent out mid October or November. It is still too long to wait! lol

The wait is what's killing me. :( Do you think they'll be annoyed if I call and ask them if they have finished ranking yet?

I called and she told me I will have 62 points after this semester assuming I get a B in microbiology and patho I need to Clep intro to sociology and that will bring it to 66 but I don't have any time to study for the Clep test ugh I need to be able to apply to the accelerated program plus I still have to take the hesi and honestly ladies my math is horrible how bad is the rest of the test

How did you calculate your points??

So here's the thing with points: if you are the harshest to yourself when calculating them, chances are the nursing department was a lot more lenient. I would suggest you send in/email an unofficial transcript to Jeana and have her calculate your points. Then just work your way up from there :) You're applying for the Fall of 2015, right?

I dont think they will be annoyed I am sure many people are calling. So if you do call you totally tell us what they say, because the wait is killing me too!
