I have finally gotten everything situated with my classes and GPA to FINALLYYYY apply! I am sending in my application this week, just finished up my chem class with a B thank god. I have a 3.0 GPA for my prerequisites and about 60 to 63 points. What do you think my chances are for getting in? When I talked to my advisor she said if I got a B in chem then I should have no problem but my worrying self doesn't want to wait that long to see. And how long did it take for a response. Application deadline is August 15th. Any helpful advise would be appreciated!!
yah!!! finally a page for spring applicants. well I spoke to Catherine rudy, shes incharge of ranking all nursing applicants. I sent my unofficial transcript to her so she can tell me how many points I have and she said I have 77 points. I have a 3.86 GPA. I have just anatomy &physiology 2, weight lifting and also literature remaining for me to take in the fall, then am done. She told me I am definitely going to get in because cut off points is usually 64-66 points. I only need to write my upcoming hesi exam and pass with the minimum average and I be fine. So happy for everyone applying for the spring!!
Well I am right at the cutoff but as long as I am within the range I DONT CARE lol! I just want in. I have struggled with everything going in my life and am happy with those 66 points lol especially this summer and during the last semester. It seems everything that can go wrong has from my husband being in the hospital for months to his mother dying and having that going on plusss we moved back so It was a struggle to maintain grades this past year.
I think so too! I got an 84% on the HESI I rushed through so I could make it to an interview but I still passed so I am ok I did great on most of the reading part except conclusions... I did not do well at all on that part but overall I made 84.67 on english and reading then an 82 on math
@britward am really sacred of vocabulary, reading and Grammar because English is my second language and sometimes it's hard for me. I have finished reading the evolve test book, but am still scared. I would have taken it in summer 1, but I was taking microbiology & psychology that's y. Fingers crossed for me, I have my exam 1st week of august. Have u submitted your nursing application?
@brittward I think you'll be fine! I'm not too high on points either so the most prayer going out to all of us on this forum! @lorr19 I think you will be fine, especially with the points you have so far! I think anyone taking the HESI A2 should just study from a guide and kind of read through everything! If there are any topics you don't understand, look them up. Everything basically came straight from the manual that I used. Good luck!
@briana jade yes I took the hesi before in may and I made a 77 on the English composite score while made a 92 on math. That's y am so scared this time again, I have been concentrating more on the English portion this time and not math again. @ aimingforabsn thanks that's what I have been doing.
I took the hesi back in 2012 when I was going to apply the first time but had to wait due to some things. But I didnt study or anything for it just went and took it. I understand your concerns though on the second language thing! I am trying to test out of a spanish class lol If it is not your language it is hard! but I am sure you will do fine if you have been studying!
