Hi,

I would like to know if "BLS for Healthcare Providers" is the right CPR class to take as one of the requirements? AHA offers several classes but this one has the credential card based on their course matrix.

For those who have done the paperwork and interview, please give some insights to the process. Any information or pointers is highly appreciated. Thanks.

You can ask me any specific questions about the process and i will help if i can

flip_sugbu Yes the BLS for healthcare providers is the right card. Thats the one i did and they accepted it. As far as the process, get your info in as soon as possible cause you only have 30 days. Be prepared to submit a writtting sample at the actual interview. For me the interview was quick, and i was told i have to wait until june to find out if i was accepted. So how were your cnet and tabes scores if you dont mind me asking. Good luck

@NURSEGUY1

Thank you for the quick reply. Just needed to verify if I registered to the right

CPR class. Below is my test results.

For CNET:

AREA PERCENTILE

Reading / Reasoning Ability 61

Numerical Ability 79

Language Ability 93

Total Score 86

For TABE A:

SUBTEST GE

Math Compu 12.9

Applied Math 12.9

Reading 12.9

Could you please elaborate more on the writing sample. How much time did they allocate for that activity? Were you given a certain topic to write about? Was the writing sample an essay type?

As for the interview, what kind of questions were they asking? And how long did it take? How many people were there to interview you?

I know I will have more questions, as I go over the requirements. Again, thank you for the initial response.

Hi FLIP,

The writting sample consist of three to five paragraphs about why you chose the field of nursing, why you want to be in this particular program and any experiences that you feel will prepare you for nursing. They was no specific time given to compleete the sample; i was told to just submitt it when i was finished so they can go through the rest of my package. as far as the interview, it was really quick ,about 15 minutes. I was asked if i had any healthcare experience and they went through my package to make sure i had all the requirements. I was told that i was now in the qualified pool of candidates, but will have to wait until all the other candidates take the exams to find out if i will be chosen. The whole process for me took about an hour.

As i finished my package all the way back in february, i am just waiting for an answer which they say should be about june or july. Feel free to ask any question you have. Good luck with your interview.

Hi NURSEGUY1,

I did my test on May 6, and i received my package, I am in the process of getting my package together, my scores were 12.9 for the Math, and 11.3 for the Reading.
