@shanie818 Thanks, just received my License a couple of weeks ago. Actually I only bought 2 of the practice tests. But if you feel you need to get the study guides, you can get that one instead. The study guide contains a couple of those practice test also. As for the TABE, I bought it online on Amazon. Don't take the CNET exam lightly because your not only after the passing score. I was told that there were over 4,000 people who took it for the 2010-2011 batch. And there are only about 150 slots total for all three schools. So definitely they get people on how high you score. As for the TABE the exam is computer based unlike the CNET which is pencil and paper.

@shanie818 Sorry can't respond to PM cause I don't have enough posts.... I already gave away my cnet reviewer. It cost 15 dollars per set. It's advisable to get at least a couple of them because the exam is very much like whats on the reviewer. The items are very basic, but you are after for speed with regards to the math section of the exam. I graduated from the Mid-Manhattan lpn program june 2011 and took the NCLEX-PN last month. The schools passing rate for the state board is very high. The program is free but you have to pay a total of $2,400 for the textbooks, uniforms, ATI review course, stethoscope and other items. You pay half during registration when you are formally accepted to the program, that would be around August. And the other half before clinicals and that would be around January. I will be getting that book from amazon. And I'm also planning to CLEP three of the subjects. By any chance you know of the minimum CLEP score that HF requires? I'm planning to go next year, cause my priority right now is job hunting. @akanini Did you do the SCI 101 Selected topics on math...inorganic chem...etc course? It costs $1,355 (books & course fee). I would like to get the challenge test instead for $200 to save money. Any info on the book that was used or topics would be appreciated.

I was hoping they would hand us the study materials during registration. At least we could do some advanced reading before classes start. Anybody got their uniforms already? I dont think two sets would be enough. I wonder how much an additional set would cost? And also, any news with regards to the orientation?

For CNET: AREA PERCENTILE Reading / Reasoning Ability 61 Numerical Ability 79 Language Ability 93 Total Score 86 For TABE A: SUBTEST GE Math Compu 12.9 Applied Math 12.9 Reading 12.9 Could you please elaborate more on the writing sample. How much time did they allocate for that activity? Were you given a certain topic to write about? Was the writing sample an essay type? As for the interview, what kind of questions were they asking? And how long did it take? How many people were there to interview you? I know I will have more questions, as I go over the requirements. Again, thank you for the initial response.

Hi, I would like to know if "BLS for Healthcare Providers" is the right CPR class to take as one of the requirements? AHA offers several classes but this one has the credential card based on their course matrix. For those who have done the paperwork and interview, please give some insights to the process. Kendace, You should be receiving your CNET practice exams in approximately 2 weeks. And also your CNET exam permit shortly after that. It's a good idea to study for the TABE A in advance because you get less than a week's notice to take that exam. The TABE A exam permit is mailed together with your CNET exam results. Just took the CNET exam last Saturday ( Jan. 23rd ). It was held at some High School in 2nd Ave. ( 57th St. ) My exam was in the afternoon, but I came in a little early. I found out that there was also a morning exam, scheduled that day. All of us applicants were asked to stay at the cafeteria, and wait for instructions regarding room assignments. My "guess-timate" is that there were about 250 people that afternoon. After the exam, the proctor told us that the results will be mailed to us in three weeks. Hope I'll clear this first obstacle and at least get a shot at the TABE A exam. Is anybody here familiar with the (compter based ) TABE A exam? I have a few questions, and they are as follow: 1. Are we going to be tested in sections/subsection like in CNET? ( I know there's one for VERBAL & MATHEMATICS. ) 2. If so, how much time are we given for each? 3. What are the passing mark for the exams? Hope someone can share more information with regards to the TABE A. Thanks in advance.

I just wonder exactly how many people applied for this program. I will be testing on the 23rd of January at 1:15pm. Don't know if others are testing in the morning, or if testing will be held in multiple sites. If this goes on every weekend until the month of May. There could easily be thousands paying for the exam, and buying those overly priced $15 practice test. ( Document looks like it could be made for less than 2 bucks, don't know about the study guide which they sell for $45. ) At this point I'm thinking that this program has just turned more into a money-making scheme than trying to help people getting into a career as an LPN. A lot of us are enticed knowing that the whole program cost only $2,500 as compared to programs in other schools, which cost a whole lot more. Also the chance albeit a small one, of actually qualifying for a scholarship is also an added come-on. Regardless, they will be making a lot of money. I'm hoping that it will be used to improve the quality of the program or create more slots for us people struggling to get in. Best of luck to everyone.

Anybody here taking the 2010 exam? I just received my practice exams from CNET. I can't believe it's just 10 pages of 11 X 17 paper, printed double-side, single color, folded and stapled at the middle. For 15 dollars each I was hoping for a better looking document, at least with a better binding...sigh !
