Michigan Grads, where are the best book deals?

Published

I have just bought my very first Nursing School Book on Alibris for $63.94 (new) as opposed to $93.85 (used). I would love to get as much as half off my books. I dont mind buying used unless they are heavily highlighted.

Im going to OCC for the LPN program.

Sorry, should have stated that the used book price was from the school bookstore.

I bought my books from amazon. I'm not an advocate of credit cards but i got their visa card b/c of the rewards. You get 25$ gift card for every 2500 points and the good thing is that amazon sells everything. Also if you enter you campus email you get amazon prime for free. This means free 2 day shipping on lots of items. Good luck :)

Amazon is my go to. I have orders some books from half.com (ebay's textbook place) but the shipping is horrible. Amazon is reliable and you get books quickly. My mom has the Amazon credit card thing, so I order through her and get the free 2-day shipping.

good luck!

I actually would not recommend chegg based on the fact that you're just renting the books and need to send them back. That is a good program for other undergraduate programs, but for nursing you're really advised to keep your books as the material comes up again and again. Just think if you change units after a couple of years and watch to brush up on your EKG skills, you'll need your critical care books.

Just my two cents.
