Miami Dade College Spring 2015 RN Program

Published

Hi all!

I wanted to start a thread for all of the Spring 2015 MDC RN applicants. I finally finished all of my pre-req's, and have started studying for the NLN PAX RN exam. I am hoping this thread, like many other MDC threads of the past, can help us all to build friendships, support one another, and most importantly, help us through this difficult process. Welcome! :)

By the way I took the BLS for healthcare providers course today at the medical campus. It was a fun class and very informative, now i know how to give CPR to both Adults and Children! That makes me feel with purpose for some reason :) And I got my certification card in the class so it is official, I can save lives. Hurray!!!

I think they are having weekly classes from now till november. For those of you that are waiting for the letters before registering I would recommend not to wait too long as it is possible the classes will be full after everyone gets their acceptance letters. You can register for the class now for any upcoming date and drop it with refund one day before the day of the class, god forbid you don't get accepted into the program; but at least you guaranteed a spot in the class.

Are u sure they give you the card right there? How much was it and how can I find the classes to register

Blnurse, that's not how it works. You have to go through the steps first. Acceptance letter, paper work, and after orientation you can register. They will close the classes, and open them at a certain time after orientation. How can u register, if you aren't in the program yet? 4 days till Thursday, you can wait. Best of luck

Thank you for the idea Eru! I found the info here: https://sisvsr.mdc.edu/ce/showsched.aspx?catID=B1A

Just scroll down under career certificates and you will see the dates. It's $79 if it's your first time or $59 to renew it.

These are not credit classes, anyone can become CPR certified (whether a student or not). It's good at least to know the locations and times they are being done to plan accordingly in the case we do get accepted.

This link was posted earlier, it's a link sent to you once you have been accepted. Looks like only the orientation dates have been updated (not bootcamp dates) but it lets you know all the steps we'll need to do if we get accepted :) http://www.mdc.edu/main/nursingadmit/accelerated.aspx

They give you the card on the same day as long as yo pay for the class on time. The class cost 79 dollars, I read its a little bit cheaper in other places but I like making my life simple... Lol... In order to register you can type "BLS for healthcare providers" in google, the page to register should come up.

Hi Lili,

The recertification will cost you $59 dollars based on the website info.

What I meant is that if anyone is not accepted to the program. Re apply next year. I'm applying for fall 2015. I'm still takin my last class. I've been following the forum just to get as much info as possible. Good luck to all.

If we don't get accepted do we still receive a letter letting us know.
