Miami Dade College Spring 2016 nursing program admission

Updated:   Published

Good morning/night to all who are reading this,

I created this post in the hopes that all applicants applying for the nursing program at Miami dade submit their experience they have had so far and also submit any questions they might have. I'm currently applying for the accelerated option but would like to hear what others are doing in the part time and generic option. A little about me is that I have a BSN in health science (2014) and have taken all the prerequisites with the exception of A&P 2 (which I am retaking in summer b June 22).

Right now my biggest concern is the hesi a2 exam we have to take and making sure i ace it because my science gpa is not so hot right now. I have read prior posts and it seems like A&P is the most challenging section. Has anyone taken it as yet? Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Also I'm worried that after they evaluate my degree they might not take my science subjects and make me re do them ? ? . Has any one's transcript been evaluated yet?

But regardless whether you applied or not it doesn't make any sense. They still extended the deadline which means more WAIT to know if you all are accepted or not.

That's were the confusion is... both the nursing office and advicement said that the deadline is sept 14th and that there is no new extension to the 21st. So I'm gonna guess it's just some sort of mistake

Exactly I've never been so confused and frustrated the more they prolong it the less time we have to do our vaccines physicals background drug test cpr test and God knows what else

Someone else should call. See what they tell them. I know mdc is a mess so that's why I really think it's a mistake

There are still appts available for the Hesi until the 9/21. They are not going to send an extension email for nothing. They emails says it very clear !

Guys keep calm. Last term they sent emails a week before classes starts. What matters is being accepted. I'm sure you all find a way to make everything before classes starts.

So they need more to apply to fill in spots or more to pay the admission fee?

I think is because of the low Hesi score.

I'm just saying what the medical campus ppl told me. My friend actually went in person and they told him that they're not sure why ppl have been calling about emails sent with a new extension. That its still the 14th.

I am right now at mdc I retook the hesi today and waiting to give the new test score I got 74 with 3.73 gpa and today I got 78.29 so my competitive score is 84.3.

I gave my new scores the advisor told me that not a lot of people applied for this semester that they need more and it is official the deadline is the 21. I received the email yesterday and I also asked there. I see 13 people doing the hesi and I talked to 4 of them all were doing the hesi for the first time. After the test I saw one girl got 75 the gpa around 3, another 78 gpa 3.4 and another one got 80

Yeah guys, I just called it's Sep 21st. We should know by around early Oct. is what I was told. Yeah it sucks but things happen for a reason so I wouldn't stress about it.
