Miami Dade College Fall 2015 RN Program

Published

Hey guys,

I figured I should share what I know about the Fall 2015 application so far.

So far this is what I know:

  1. Spring 2015 students do not need an entrance exam - let's see if they keep it this way for Fall 2015 applicants
  2. There will be a mandatory SOS Pre Nursing Bootcamp that will need to be attended upon acceptance to the program.
  3. I called advising today (7/7/14) the receptionist said I should start applying in January, but I'll confirm that once again before then.
  4. 60% sciences and 40% cumulative GPA is still the criteria as far as we know.

I figured this should be a great place for us to share our anxiety about our apps and build some friendships :).

Hi BLNurse,

Yes you can use the calculator i took the test last week and it was not that hard. Are you studying from the hesi book the school recommended? thats a really good book it really prepare you for the test. another good thing you should try to help you with studying download tha Hes app on your phone so you can do the practice questions. The questions from the app and the book are similary questions you will see on the actual test.Ifyou have any more question feel free to ask me, wish you the best.

Thank you Guer for your respond. Yes, I bought the book that the School recommends, I also bought the Hesi App the other day for about $7.99. I started to do all the Math exercises by hand, but it takes time. It's basic math, Not that hard, But I want to focus more on the science portion. Thank you and good luck. This is my second time applying. Let's hope for the best.

Maybe on mnday if we have a break we can go to the uniform store that's next to the campus and check it out.

Guys who are accepted to the Generic Full Time, can you please share what are the requirements as far as vaccinations, urinalyses, blood test, background check? Is it all done on campus?

My insurance covered the titers so I did everything with my family doc. You can also do it all at the school's clinic for $225.

Is anyone missing the cpr-bls class? Because the AHA has lots of classes and times but some are not open because not enough students registered. If anyone still needs that, maybe we can get together and register for a class on a certain date and time so they open up the class. I'm having a hard time finding an open class, most have no one registered, so they won't really do a class for one person....any suggestions...or anyone wants to schedule with me as well??

Hi, im registered for the cpr bls class at the school for August 14 with Prof Bradley Quinten its $79.00 there, i was looking into the classes the american red cross offers so far there more expensive. Has anyone done there medical stuff at one of the school clinics i went today and the guy said there is no way the paperwork will be done by the 17th.

i found this website for a place that you take the class and get the card in 2 hours miamicpr.net it doesnt have a price ill have to call tomorrow [h=3]* 18710 SW 107th Ave Unit #8 Miami, Fl 33157 The Nursing Station (786)390-5771[/h]

Hi! I finally found a CPR class with one seat open, so I took it! For tomorrow! And the health stuff, I passed by the wellness clinic yesterday and they told me they're closed all next week which is why results might not be in on time if we have a deadline. That's what I was told.
