Miami Dade College Fall 2015 RN Program

Hey guys,

I figured I should share what I know about the Fall 2015 application so far.

So far this is what I know:

  1. Spring 2015 students do not need an entrance exam - let's see if they keep it this way for Fall 2015 applicants
  2. There will be a mandatory SOS Pre Nursing Bootcamp that will need to be attended upon acceptance to the program.
  3. I called advising today (7/7/14) the receptionist said I should start applying in January, but I'll confirm that once again before then.
  4. 60% sciences and 40% cumulative GPA is still the criteria as far as we know.

I figured this should be a great place for us to share our anxiety about our apps and build some friendships :).

Is mdc the only place you applied? There are several college and universities that give the opportunity. ..

Yes I only applied to Mdc. It's the cheapest yet better program

How soon into the semester do students start going to clinicals

Are u generic or accelerate? Generic starts seconds semester accelerate first

Idk about a better program, I've heard that Nova and Barry are very good universities the only bad thing is that are very expensives

Could someone gives me an honest opinion about West Coast University? They have Lpn - Bsn program and the Tease is their entrance program. I was thinking to make it my second option if Mdc does not accept me into their nursing bridge program.

I'm in my second semester at Mdc generic program out of Homestead. Honestly the boot camp was not helpful at all. Suggest you review some medical terminology. Get yourself the Hesi nclex rn exam review book and the Saunders comprehensive review for nclex. Both totally worth the money. Good luck to all of you and I will see the newbies at Honestead at the start of the semester!
