Miami Dade College Fall 2015 RN Program

Published

Hey guys,

I figured I should share what I know about the Fall 2015 application so far.

So far this is what I know:

  1. Spring 2015 students do not need an entrance exam - let's see if they keep it this way for Fall 2015 applicants
  2. There will be a mandatory SOS Pre Nursing Bootcamp that will need to be attended upon acceptance to the program.
  3. I called advising today (7/7/14) the receptionist said I should start applying in January, but I'll confirm that once again before then.
  4. 60% sciences and 40% cumulative GPA is still the criteria as far as we know.

I figured this should be a great place for us to share our anxiety about our apps and build some friendships :).

Specializes in Surgical transplant.

Oh okay, that makes sense, July 9th. I'm sure a lot of us are on the acceptance list just waiting for our email, they did say they send the emails out randomly...I'm wondering if it's like a batch of emails once a week, maybe not to overcrowd the campus with everyone arriving at the same time to accept their seat, etc...

I just saw on of those MDC towers emails and I freaked out Lol. Does the email start with congratulations. ? What is the subject so I can start visualizing it. Lol

LOL the same thing happened to me. I got butterflies in my stomach followed by a straight face -____- this is not the time to be sending out any other emails MDC!! :nailbiting:

August 24

I want this to be over already so with can move on. What's the prognosis for tomorrow ? Lol.

Your quitting? Idk if to quit my job ): @mitchiebono

Congratulations to those who got accepted ; I was on your on ur shoes two semesters ago. It is gonna be an interesting journey . Enjoy this summer 'cause you won't have much time after you start the program ( if u wanna pass - it's almost impossible to finish with an A and hard to get a B most people passed with Cs and they were just happy with their Cs.) Sorry to say this but be ready to read the whole book for fundamentals , that's the only challenged I had. The rest of the classes aren't hard at all. If u read the whole chapters u cover in class AND understand Not just memorize you should be ok: it's a lot of critical thinking and that's whah makes this class so hard and different. Remember read the book slowly and with an open mind. It is a lot of info to absorb but as soon as you ReALlY understand it you should be fine. Those test are so tricky ..

You get to register the day of the orientation; try to get a good professor for Fundamentals the rest of the classes aren't hard and I don't think anyone would fail; it does not matter who you get for those classes you should be fine.

Good luck guys!!!

Forgot to mention it will be hard to do the full time generic and work more than 20 hours a week: really hard.

I'm hoping today's the day! Waiting is hard lol

Hi everyone!

I am new to this page but it's a great place for staying in the loop. I want to share that on Monday I was accepted to generic full time and generic part time both a medical campus. On Tuesday I went to campus and submitted my paper work and paid my deposit fee for the full time program. Hope everyone who hasn't already receives their acceptance email soon!
