Miami Dade College Fall 2015 RN Program

Published

Hey guys,

I figured I should share what I know about the Fall 2015 application so far.

So far this is what I know:

  1. Spring 2015 students do not need an entrance exam - let's see if they keep it this way for Fall 2015 applicants
  2. There will be a mandatory SOS Pre Nursing Bootcamp that will need to be attended upon acceptance to the program.
  3. I called advising today (7/7/14) the receptionist said I should start applying in January, but I'll confirm that once again before then.
  4. 60% sciences and 40% cumulative GPA is still the criteria as far as we know.

I figured this should be a great place for us to share our anxiety about our apps and build some friendships :).

3.0 overall 3.0 science. Well I wish you luck. You should have applied for something that allows you to bridge

I don't understand the bridge process So does this mean you have to finish the respiratory program and them apply for nursing ?

Yea you do. You have to hold a license in a medical field in order to apply and get accepted.

Thank you but is a long long process. I rather apply until I get accepted

Yes it doesn't. You pass program. Get license then apply for bridge.

Well it an option.. keep it in mind instead of wasting time not in class you can keep applying for RN while in other program. if you get accepted you can remove yourself from program or finish program and apply for bridge. It just is another way to have more options. Options are good.

I just got out of medical Campus they said they will be sending letter all week for the first batch I honestly think is in order or when u applied cause I applied in January. There will be no boot camp this year and yes the two days listed are mandatory specially orientation day which you will pick ur classes that day!

I don't know how I feel about them not having a boot camp this time around. I wonder if those who previously went to a boot camp found them to be beneficial to their initial success in the program?

I have noticed nobody has mentioned PART TIME YET.... which is good.... we could still have a chance....

I also noticed that out of those accepted within this forum none have been for part time. Only accelerated, bridge, and generic FT acceptance emails seem to have been sent out. There's still plenty of days for emails to be sent so let's keep our hopes up! :: prayersgoingup ::

Is the deadline to complete the checklist june 15 or july 15th? Inknow to save your seat is june 15th idk about everything else someone plz respond
