Miami Dade College Fall 2015 RN Program

Published

Hey guys,

I figured I should share what I know about the Fall 2015 application so far.

So far this is what I know:

  1. Spring 2015 students do not need an entrance exam - let's see if they keep it this way for Fall 2015 applicants
  2. There will be a mandatory SOS Pre Nursing Bootcamp that will need to be attended upon acceptance to the program.
  3. I called advising today (7/7/14) the receptionist said I should start applying in January, but I'll confirm that once again before then.
  4. 60% sciences and 40% cumulative GPA is still the criteria as far as we know.

I figured this should be a great place for us to share our anxiety about our apps and build some friendships :).

Should I be worried, more than what I already am??? Idk if they're letting the homestead campus know or if it's a general thing for the medical too HELPP!!!

Have you called to see if they are still sending emails today or if they're done for the day?

MAIN Medical is in charge of whom goes to what campus.... only 1 campus is in charge of the disbursement of letters.

I have a commutative 3.0. Science 3.8. All A's one B

I called they told me to wait maybe until next Wednesday

Are they accepting the homestead campus first?

Congrats to everyone who has made it so far.

Are people still receiving emails?

I got nothing so far. I'm still hopefull. Very impatient, but hopeful. :smug:

I've been following but hadn't yet posted. I have 3.59 cumulative GPA and 3.0 science. Roughly 3.2 together. I'm a nervous wreck this is my 2nd time applying for the program. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I applied for both ft and pt generic.

Our gpa's are not that high. That's why I also applied for respiratory tract and i was accepted. I really want nursing but I can bridge if anything..did you apply for another program I haven't accepted yet cause I don't want it to remove me from getting accepted into nursing.

Is the mandatory orientation on July 6 and 7 actually mandatory? Do they make exceptions? I am on vacation across the country that week. Has anyone heard of anyone being able to miss it? I will fly back and miss a portion of my vacation if I need to but the flights are really expensive.

You need to be there, you can always talk to them to see of they can place you in the orientation for a different group. But it is part of the mandatory processes you must attend.

I haven't applied to any other programs. Im set with nursing. I'm not sure what I'm going to do if I don't get accepted. What your GPA?

3.0 overall 3.0 science. Well I wish you luck. You should have applied for something that allows you to bridge

I had no idea of what programa to apply to bridge.... I guess if I don't get accepted maybe next time.
