Miami Dade College Fall 2015 RN Program

Hey guys,

I figured I should share what I know about the Fall 2015 application so far.

So far this is what I know:

  1. Spring 2015 students do not need an entrance exam - let's see if they keep it this way for Fall 2015 applicants
  2. There will be a mandatory SOS Pre Nursing Bootcamp that will need to be attended upon acceptance to the program.
  3. I called advising today (7/7/14) the receptionist said I should start applying in January, but I'll confirm that once again before then.
  4. 60% sciences and 40% cumulative GPA is still the criteria as far as we know.

I figured this should be a great place for us to share our anxiety about our apps and build some friendships :).

Are you talking about a new entrance exam for spring semester 2016?

No its the new test they make you take to finish the program .... if you do not pass it they make you take a class for a refresher and take the test again. Its basically an exit exam for the program

Nope! At the end of every class you have to take a HESI exam that is worth 15% of your class grade, even if you have a 90 percent on the class if you fail the HESI, you failed the class! If u repeat the class again they will kick u out of the program. Also for the HESI you get no training in the classes and the students are complaining that is too hard. Basically everyone is failing.

Me either! If I am in no matter what test they give I will give my 200% even if I have to study 24 hours.

I don't like any test but a lot of nursing school in states have this system. I have never seen there is a petition against that exam in other school. It will be not easy. But you guys can do it. Chill out.

Do you guys realize that we literally have about 3 days left, more or less, until the letters go out? I wish everyone the best of luck. If you get in, be the best. And if you don't, everything happens when it's meant to happen.
