Miami Dade College Fall 2015 RN Program

Published

Hey guys,

I figured I should share what I know about the Fall 2015 application so far.

So far this is what I know:

  1. Spring 2015 students do not need an entrance exam - let's see if they keep it this way for Fall 2015 applicants
  2. There will be a mandatory SOS Pre Nursing Bootcamp that will need to be attended upon acceptance to the program.
  3. I called advising today (7/7/14) the receptionist said I should start applying in January, but I'll confirm that once again before then.
  4. 60% sciences and 40% cumulative GPA is still the criteria as far as we know.

I figured this should be a great place for us to share our anxiety about our apps and build some friendships :).

I'm sure you signed. it is kind of an agreement where you have to print your name and then sign at the bottom. In my case I saw a new advisor and she forgot to give me the form

Imagine my fear! Since I applied in January I am paranoid that they will lose my application lol

I also applied since in January, to make sure my application is not lost or anything I will go see an advisor before May 1

What's a disclaimer form.. I'm planning to take classes in summer term to raise my gpa.

It's a pink paper explaining basically our responsibilities to check email. It's all related to the application process. Spring classes count towards this application. Summer is for spring 2016. If we don't get accepted this time we have to do the hesi before 9/1/2015 deadline.

Can anyone recommend a good study material source for the HESI exam? I would like to get a head start on that to prepare myself just in case I have to apply for the Spring 2016.

Check MDC page. They recommend the 3rd edition. Search MDC hesi the ISBN number is listed too

Deadline date is just around the corner. I'm very calm, how about you all ? if I don't get accepted life goes on. This is not the end of the world neither we are suffering from a terminal disease. One way or another we all going to make it. Stay calm friends !!!!

How do I send my GED transcripts to MDC I am completely lost, they said I will have to get them mailed or faxed from the place where I took my test but now the place where I took my test said they wouldn't have my transcripts because I wasn't a student there. I went to the GED official website to try to send my GED results but I am unable to pull the college, I need help please! I am stuck and I don't know what to do I need to send them in immediately!

If you send a copy of your transcripts via electronically from previous colleges or by mail that info should show on your record as high school graduated or ged equivalent.

Tell them to give you the phone number with the info of where to send your transcripts. The process takes up to four weeks.

Hello again everyone!

Things are looking good for my final pre-reqs. Looking like all As; so my final tally for science courses would be one B for Anatomy 1 lecture *THE WORST PROFESSOR* and everything else As. I've been looking a lot into applying to Accelerated BSN programs at FIU, UM and FAU. UM is so expensive so I'm kinda dreading it, but I think even if I get into MDCs program I should try and apply to other schools just to save time in school.

FYI, I applied to MDC's accelerated and full time generic nursing program. I have my bachelors in Public Relations from UF and my current overall GPA is 3.75.

I haven't read the posts earlier, but is anyone else looking into other schools? How does everyone feel about their chances?

Also, Does anyone know when the bootcamp is for fall semester?
