Is there anybody here know the rate per hour of an ICU nurse? My friend has 14 yrs experience as nurse and she wishes to apply in that hospital. :typing
3000$ is pretty standard down here. i did not get that when i worked at baptist because they told me that i was helping to pay off the "scholarship" i got, that i won, which was $7500 because i went to um. baptist says they are working on computer charting, they have been saying that for yearsalot of building going on but for the most part it looks like they have not finished the renovations/expansion of the ed. but there is space, baptist bought the offfice buildings next door to the hospital and built a parking garage and there is enough room for another building for something. i will keep you updated.
they have been saying they are going to computer charting for the past 11 years. the new er will be completed 10/08. no apts for nurses. baptist has a new ceo who could care less about the nurses
the CEO at MCH seems like he cares about the nurses.
There was e-mail sent to us employees, that we have to "get to know your fellow employees" and at random, they will come and ask..... I don't know how that is going to work, because there is no way that I could know about the personal life of every person I work with.
anywho,
I do enjoy where I work. it's hard at times, but that comes with the territory of being an RN.
baptist has MDC, and BARRY on-campus scholars programs.
So they are training their own nurses.
I would of loved to do that, but MDC sucks!

no, baptist has no "phlebotomist" officially. you can call the lab lady if you absolutely cannot get a vein. but, she will not be happy and neither will the patient. the lady that was there 2 years ago, she went "fishing" for a vein, if you know what i mean? it is a give and a take. as it is with everything. baptist was talking about making apartments next to the hospital for nurses that were travelers and the like. i do not know if that has come through. i go by there on my way home and there is alot of building going on but for the most part it looks like they have not finished the renovations/expansion of the ed. but there is space, baptist bought the offfice buildings next door to the hospital and built a parking garage and there is enough room for another building for something. i will keep you updated.
