I am trying to decide if I want to go to this program. Last year they send financial award letters almost a month before the start day and I am wondering if they do the same this year. It takes time to be approved for the loans.

Financial aid letters go out in march (up till the last week i believe), i met with someone in financial aid and was told that was plenty of time to secure private loans so no worries!

FYI...the FAFSA code for MGHIHP is working now. I submitted my form online and it was processed.

Has anyone received any information about this summer's schedule? All I know is that the program starts on May 4th.

Nope haven't received anything new... i bet it will be a few more weeks too, until they have the final roster of whose attending. I do hear that there are going to be 90 of us this year...double last years class!!

I have a bit of a dilemma and I'm hoping someone here can offer some advice.

I've already been accepted to the Regis Direct Entry Master's program, but am still waiting to hear from MGH (my top choice). I have to let Regis know my decision by 2/23, but am freaking out that I won't hear from MGH until after that deadline (as I'm guessing may be the case based on previous posts on this thread). It's probably to soon to start calling the admissions office to ask about letters since the deadline was 1/10, but I have no idea what to do. I don't want to turn down Regis only to be rejected by MGH because that would leave me with nowhere to go. What shoul I do!?!?

Julie,

You could accept the Regis offer by paying the deposit then risk losing it later if you decide to go to MGH.

You should call MGH but also call Regis to see they will give you more time.

I know it's a tough decision. Good luck.

Hi Julie,

Congrats on getting accepted to Regis, I am actually applying this month. I got put on a waitlist for MGH. Honestly, the nursing program at Regis is excellent. You will be able to graduate with a MS and a BSN, which is great after 18 months you can take the exam to become an RN and work for a while then go back for your masters- you have like two years to do that. It gives you more options. Im nervous about applying....I still have to take the GRE at the end of Feb. When did you apply to Regis?

Hi Julie,

I was accepted to Regis for this past fall, but decided not to go right now for personal reasons. That being said, I had a lot of communication with 2 very nice people they are really nice and understanding, perhaps you could ask them if you could extend your date (they may be able to offer some advice at least) Also, I would definitely try contacting MGH, it couldn't hurt anything. I'm sure they understand that you applied to more than one school. I had to forfeit my Regis deposit too and in the end the $500 isn't really going to make a big difference, as long as you're in nursing school working towards your goals.

Thank you for the advice. I was in a bit of a panic when I wrote my last message (if you couldn't tell) but feel much better today.

Roni, I applied to Regis at the beginning of January (mailed in my application on the 2nd, heard back on the 2st). So the turnaround is pretty quick. I think another thing that added to my apprehension were some of the negative posts about Regis here (i.e. bad school, most expensive...which after doing the math I still can't figure out), but I'm just going to go with my gut on the decision.

Cclem1 - Thanks! I will most likely end up calling one or both of the schools as the deadline approaches to see what my options are.

Hey I'm starting the Accelerated BSN program at MGH in May and I'm wondering if anyone knows what the schedule is going to be like? What days of the week are definitely filled with classes/clinicals and what days are not? Does anyone know when we will be receiving set classs schedules?

I'm so excited!

Is there anyone in the program now that can shed some light on clinical schedules and locations? Where are most people placed and what hours are clinicals usually run? I need to plan for childcare and need to know if clinicals usually take place in the mornings, afternoons, or evenings? Do they take into consideration where you live, or could you be placed somewhere hours from where you live? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!
