Did not see a topic made for this year's cycle so I thought I would create one. Looking forward to replies!
Hi all!
I'm joining this thread really late ?. I got accepted for the AGPCNP specialty. I will also be coming from out-of-state from CA. Would love some advice on moving from out-of-state.
1. Should I bring a car? I have a commuter bike that I use to bike to work and wondering if that would be sufficient.
2. Anyone looking for a roommate coming from out-of-state? Researching places to live here and there.
3. Have any of you received updates on the format of the curriculum in the fall amidst COVID-19 situation? I know there's a zoom meeting coming up?
Helloo and congratulations! You can join https://www.facebook.com/groups/231978477826958/?ref=share
it’s called MGH IHP Direct Entry NP Class of 2023!
Hopefully you’ll find some answers there!
They said that although they recommend a car, a lot of people use public transport and find housing close to the T line!
They have not come to a decision yet but hopefully will announce in the town Hall meeting this Thursday!
Its a bit easier for some people depending on where you live, but if you live in or near the city then you won't really *need* a car. If you have a clinical rotation that's further away, it will be just one day per week. At least this is true in the first year. Your med-surg rotations will be at MGH, it sounds like they are set for resuming those clinicals for the fall, but who knows with Covid. Anyways...
Using the MBTA, Uber/Lyft, and the occasional Zipcar has worked for me and a few of others in my cohort so far.

Are there any current DEN students who can comment on how they felt about transitioning to online learning? Pros, cons? Has it impacted your performance as a student? Have the faculty been supportive? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
