MGH IHP ABSN January 2018 Cohort

Published

Hi everyone -

Is anyone else applying for the MGH IHP ABSN January 2018 cohort?

If so, care to stress out with me? :)

I doubt you have anything to be nervous about! :) I am not entirely sure, but based on previous cohorts, we will be notified by email when our decision is ready.

My anxiety is at an all time high right now!!!!! I just have NO idea about my chances or what they are looking for in particular in an applicant. I wish we just knew the date when we will be notified so I can stop checking my email like crazy!

I am with you 100% I actually went through the threads from the last 3 cohorts and wrote down people's GPA's and compared them to whether or not they were accepted to see if mine are in a similar acceptable range! If that's not "going nutty with anxiety" then I don't know what is! :D :D :D

I've done the exact same and I feel a crazy person! It's nice to know I'm not alone! 😂

We're all on the same train to Crazy Town! (And hopefully MGH IHP!)

Oh good I am not the only one on the crazy train! I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend. It should be only days now until we get the news! (Hopefully)

I'm glad someone else posted! I don't think I can take the wait anymore. My anxiety is through the roof! Has anyone called and asked admissions when decisions might be going out?

Hello - new to the thread but applied back in June - emailed admissions earl last week with no response before or after (yet) the holiday. The anxiety is finally starting to win out now that we're in the home stretch.

No I have not called. Although I am very anxious, I'd hate to bother them while they are all also probably very stressed out. I wonder how many applications they received for the spring. This Saturday marks the 10 week mark from the deadline. Hopefully we will hear this week. Fingers crossed!!

Welcome! Let us know if you do get a response!

Thanks! How's everyone feeling about their chances? I'm a bit nervous playing catch up on a not so great GPA as an undergrad (

After attending the info session at MGHIHP, I felt much better about my application. The faculty discussed how it is understandable that a students grades their first year of undergrad may not be where they would have hoped. However, they look for the incline of grades up until graduation. That shows hard work and dedication. Also, they really emphasized the personal statement. Since your grades are set in stone and there's nothing more you can do to control that part, the essay is where you can shine through the most! The more personal the better. They really look at the person more so than other schools I have come to find. It is one of the reasons I was really geared towards their program. They were very genuine and really want motivated students for their program. It's not always about your grades. :)
