Hi everyone -

Is anyone else applying for the MGH IHP ABSN January 2018 cohort?

If so, care to stress out with me? :)

I have applied too. Just a waiting game now.

So weird, on the completed application where it said the deadline was July 1st and then July 14th, it now says August 11, 2017. So is the deadline extended again?

On their website it actually says the deadline is August 18th! ABSN | MGH Institute of Health Professions

If you already submitted just be happy that you're done and try not to stress too much during the waiting period.

Yeah, I know I'm thrilled. I just thought it was strange NursingCas has a different date then the school website. Just was curious if they changed the deadline again, that's all.

Did anyone else notice that the deadline has been extended from July 1, to July 15, and now August 18? What does this mean? Do you think admissions decisions will be pushed back further?

I highly doubt that admissions decisions will be pushed back, or if they are, it won't be a significant change (at least I hope not). Based on the stalking of other threads, extending the deadline is not an uncommon practice and it doesn't seem like the decisions timeline was affected. In terms of what it means? Who knows...maybe they didn't get as many applicants as they were hoping for?

Yes I sent an email just to make sure and they said admission decisions will be end of August/early September for those who made the original deadline.

I wonder why the deadline was pushed back?Could this mean that they did not get as many applicants as expected?

I didn't realize the deadline had been pushed back again! I got an e-mail regarding the change from July 1 to July 15, but I don't recall receiving another one that said the deadline had been moved again. I'm willing to bet that they pushed it back because they didn't receive as many applications as they hoped they would. Honestly, I would think that most applicants that were serious about applying would have met the July 1st deadline. I know my application was in the works for a good 6 months, as I had to take some prereqs in order to be eligible to apply.

Thank you for calling and asking if the decision letters would still be sent out at the same time! I feel like my life is on hold until I find out if I was accepted! :)

I feel the same way. The wait is killing me. I sent in my application officially on June 6th so I'm glad decisions will still be going out on time. They said end of August to early September but past threads didn't find out until mid September. Either way it feels like forever!! I'm glad we have this thread. Is anyone coming from outside of MA?

hey all!

I just decided I wanted to go to nursing school, and am applying now to MGH's program.

i tried e-mailing admissions, but haven't received an answer back yet. is the diversity statement required? nursingCAS doesn't mention it, but their website does. also, does the personal statement have to be two single-spaced pages? (i just thought this was weird since the diversity statement is supposed to be double-spaced...)
