MGH BSN 2012

Published

Hi all! Anyone else out there apply for the MGH Accelerated BSN class starting in January of 2012? I've read that some people who were waitlisted for the cohort starting this month were offered spots in the Jan 2012 class, so I'm wondering how many people were offered and accepted that option... hopefully that doesn't cut down on the spots available too significantly. But, I also wonder if not as many people were aware they opened up this new class, so maybe fewer applicants?? Or maybe that's just wishful thinking :)

Four weeks down and hopefully only 4 more to go!

And they are still accepting applications!! Can you believe that?

I know! I keep checking the site and it still says accepting applications....I wonder if they are keeping admission spots open for those who are still turning in their apps?!?

Betting pool anybody?

Has anyone called and asked them if they are still accepting applications? I know the web site says they are, but gosh I need to know so I can take a class this summer!

I was thinking of applying to Curry (and MGH). Is it really competitive? What kind of grades did you get on your prerequistes? Do you know if they waitlist too? Any info would be appreciated.

May 10th their admissions got back to me about whether they are still accepting apps and she told me if I had everything ready to go to send it and it would be "up to the program if they review it or not". I asked if I had recommenders lined up, just needed them to send it in, should I wait until it's closer to the Nov. 1st deadline and she said that waiting closer to Nov 1 was recommended.

So my guess on this is that they probably have all the spots filled and are using some of the apps now for the deadline of Nov. 1... I'm probably going to send mine in around early September. I don't want to risk them not looking at it by sending it now

Hi maggun,

I got into the ACCEL Curry program that starts in January 2012. I believe their program is relatively competitive, accepting only 30 students out of a pool of 200 I think. I have 4.0 average in my prerequisite courses. If I get into MGH I will probably go there, as I prefer the location. However, Curry's program structure is ideal and I strongly you encourage you to attend their info session if you are considering applying.

Still counting.....almost to the 5 week mark. Hopefully we'll find out sooner rather than later. When I spoke with admissions they said it would be 8-10 weeks, if apps were submitted by the May 1st deadline. It would be fantastic if we heard earlier! Still keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for positive news!

5 weeks? Didn't you say 4.5 in a earlier post?

Personally, I think it would be better if we heard later rather than sooner. The sooner letters are usually bad news...

(oh wait, nevermind, you're counting up)

I too am waiting anxiously! When I spoke with someone in admissions she assured me that the spots being offered to waitlisted individuals would not take a significant amount away from the available spots for the new cohort. So I'm...optimistic....I guess! I just really want to know if I'm in or not, I hate being patient.
