MGH Accelerated BSN Summer 2016

Hi everyone - I'm wondering if anyone else applied for MGH's Accelerated BSN program for Summer 2016? I submitted my application on the deadline (November 2nd). I've searched through some MGH threads on here but I haven't come across any discussing the Summer start!

@kar322...I believe the other fb groups were and are closed, and therefore people have to be added.

So, what do you think?

@llovenursing15 Maybe I can answer any questions you may have. And I believe the financial aid office will walk you thru the fafsa...I have to do mine as well.

i called and spoke to someone. She said that she's 90% sure that I'll be applying as a dependent. She said that the fafsa deadline is in March, but that I can submit it as early as I want.

@llovenursing15... I am independent. I just looked up classification of both. Thins like being marrried, born before 1991, military, have kids are the main reasons for independent, but there are others.

I'm unfortunately working at the time of the open house and can't attend. Could I send someone my email address in order to get some info? Or would someone be willing to put some of the info here?

also, about financing. Even with the scholarship, I'm a bit short. I haven't filled out the fafsa in about a year and have completely forgotten how to do it!! I didn't get a job until September. I graduated in May. I'd therefore be dependent, right?

Do you live with your parents? if you don't and live on your on I would say independent but not 100% sure. Also, I talked to financial aid, and since it is for a second degree the max we can get is 12,500 every 2 semesters in loans no grants ...

I am still on the fence about going here I visited the school today because I cannot attend this weekend. Everyone seems really nice! there are a lot more hybrid classes in the curriculum then I thought. I have to figure it out. ahh so much to think about

For those of you that went to the open house any information you can share?

How was the facility and did they say what the class schedule would be like??

I went to the open house. The first 3-4 weeks are called front loading....and we will be there basically 8-5 m-f. Patho is a Hybrid class. after 4 weeks, the time on campus lightens up. clinical 2 days per week, night clinicals are an option also.

I am waitlisted again :-/. Curious, for those of you who were accepted - when do you have to decide by? Is there a due date for the first payment? I just have to ask :-P
