Specializes in psychology.

hey guys, did they tell you where your gonna have clinicals?

Hi all!

I got accepted into the Summer 2021 cohort for Mercy and am really excited! I was wondering if anyone can share their experiences so far with the program? Are the classes hybrid? Are you doing clinicals in person? What does your week schedule look like? Are you or anyone you know in the program able to work part time? I'm still waiting on for the information session for the Summer but it's taking FOREVER and I am so curious on how the program is so far.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

TIA!

Hey! Personally for me I have no complaints about the program. Everything has been fair. From my experience as long as you do your work and study you will make it through. Good luck!

Hello everyone,

For the people who finished the program August 2021,what day was the pinning ceremony?? I know the last days of classes is August 9th or 10th? Also how was in walking in May knowing that you weren’t done with your classes yet??

Hey Guys I will be applying to mercy nursing college soon so I was wondering if anyone who is currently taking ABSN class at nursing could give me insights on how the program is, and how you are feeling about it?

Also how are the clinicals and where are the clinicals done for Mercy ABSN program?

Can anyone share their experience and about this program?

Hi, I can only speak from my experience and this is my last semester in the ABSN program.

Most of the professors are super supportive. The way they structure the program/classes are doable while I’m working part time and still have a life. Time management is key! Clinicals are different every year. There’s a lot of choices but is first come first serve when you register. Most sites are in Manhattan, Bronx, Westchester. Some in Brooklyn and Long Island.

By your last semester (which I’m currently at now) the schools will provide you different resources like ATI and Kaplan, to ensure you pass the NCLEX for the first time.

Feel free to reach out if you have anymore questions. Good luck with your application!

Thank you so much for sharing. Actually I live in Queens and the travel distance is almost two hours. I was wondering what does a typical schedule looks like in this program? Also if it is okay to ask how much did this total program cost to you? I am planning to apply to PACE as well which is much closer to me but the tuition cost is pretty expensive than Mercy so just really confused.

Lastly, I see that we have Summer session and also weekend classes? Do you have any idea how these session runs in comparison to regular Spring or fall term?

I am so sorry to bother you with so many questions.

I’m in the accelerated program in my 4th semester.Your schedule is how you make it.You take 12 credits every semester (5/6 classes) and one semester you take only 10 credits (4 classes) They have different days you can choose for your classes. Most of them are in the mornings but a few nights. There’s good teachers and bad teachers like all college.Definitely find a group of ppl to study with cuz that definitely helps. The program is 60k. I’m not sure how the weekend Program is because it’s a new program they started this year. It’s an 18 month program.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and information. It means a lot.

Hi!

Im in my third semester for the accelerated program and the program overall has been good but there has been some annoying things like them switching my clinicals last minute and the communication with the school isn’t always the best. There are some teachers I love and some that aren’t good but no matter where you go you will always have good and bad teachers. I like that it’s 18 months because it still goes by quick but it’s not AS intense as some colleges that are 12 months or 15 months. I started in the Summer so I will say Summer was the toughest for me because you are taking 4 classes that have labs with it and it makes it feel like you have double the classes but labs are only pass or fail. That semester was the toughest for me so far and the most hectic cause it’s also shortened to 10 weeks instead of 15 weeks like the Spring or fall. I technically had 7 classes including my labs & clinical that were 10 weeks long so it felt VERY intense and jammed together. After that my fall and Spring don’t feel has jammed and I’m able to manage my time to get my work done with my clinicals and still have a life and if I wanted to, work part time. Tuition alone is around $60k along with having to buy your uniform(scrubs), stethoscope and any additional things you need for classes. I will say it was nice that we got a nursing bag filled with all the stuff we needed for our first semester labs and they gave us Kaplan to help us prepare for the NCLEX!

Schedule is how you make it…every semester I’ve made my schedule to either have a Monday or Friday off and this semester I have both Monday & Friday off! Clinicals are a first come first serve basis and they have them mainly in Westchester, queens, bronx and Manhattan. But even tho you choose the clinical you want..there’s always chances of it getting changed to a different site because either the site can’t have students due to covid or a instructor quit and they can’t find a replacement for that site.

hope this helps & good luck!
