MERCY ABSN 20 NY

Updated:   Published

Hi I'm creating a group for all the people who applying or got accepted to mercy college in ny for Spring 20

When i went to the open house they said we wont hear until feb or march

i applied but do you think we have a better chance of getting in for fall 2020 as opposed to summer 2020 since its rolling/ we would be early for fall. also were your personal statements exactly 500 words?

You asked everything I was wondering lol. I’ve been writing mine and debating on the 500 word limit. I was also considering waiting to submit my application so that I don’t get moved to summer 2020.

lmao right! I actually would love to start is summer 2020 but i feel like its too late to submit. it's not tooo late but chances decreased haha. i got mine down to 570..just having someone else take a look at it. is this your top school? im thinking about applying to urochester too, i got denied from stony but even people with 4.0s got cut so idk

I was thinking the same with rolling admissions, I’d love to start ASAP but at the end of the day I’m not a 3.8+ student who can just show up late to the party lol. My statement ended at about 520 words and I’ve been trying to find some places to cut back cause I’m not sure how strict they are with the word limit but I’d assume it’s best to just follow whatever directions the school is giving word for word. Mercy is my top school Bc they seem to take a more holistic approach.

literally feel the same way. changed my application to fall 2020. im hoping they look at our essays and resumes equally cause those are my strongest aspects..and yeah they are holistic and the price isnt too bad. NYU is like 100 k, and all the sunys are cheaper but so compettitive

I’m so nervous about this application process you don’t even know lol. Best of luck to you ! Hopefully we’re classmates come Fall 2020.

You don't need to be nervous...take it easy.

1. Less people apply for Summer starts

2. They tend to accept more people in the Fall and are more lenient in terms of grade. I knew someone who was barely scraping a 3.2 and got in.

3. Don't worry too much on the word count of the essay focus more on the content and structure.

4. If your essay is great and your grades aren't the best they will surely favour you over a student with 3.5+ GPA and a crappy essay.

PS. Spring was more competitive for a number of reasons that's why they asked for 3.8 GPAs and believe me, students got in with lesser GPAs. My point is you have a chance of getting in.

Good luck and you got this. ??

You are very welcome. It starts on the 22nd. Thank you.

Yes, if you don't get through for Summer, they'll move you to the next round (hence rolling admissions).

I understand the tension in applying to schools. I was having similar feelings but then I relaxed, prayed and waited. (I was accepted by Mercy before NYU and Mercy was my last application).

You got this sis! See you in Summer/Fall ?

Hey! Anyone know when Fall 2020 decisions are made? Also, does anyone have an idea of what the ABSN schedule looks like?

Thanks!
