Hi I'm creating a group for all the people who applying or got accepted to mercy college in ny for Spring 20

Hey,

I got accepted for fall but deferred to spring 2020.

@xetres any reason y?

was it difficult to get into the program

Specializes in Cardiology.

I'm applying for my Spring 2020 ABSN!

I have 6 years experience in healthcare as a tech. I work in a hospital currently and I'm finishing my BA this semester. I have all the pre-requisites and a good GPA but not great. Hoping that with a good personal statement and good references I can secure a seat. I'm at a 3.5 atm.

Awesome im in the same boat.. finger cross

I’m planning to apply for spring as well! Just one question, when is the application deadline for spring or for fall?

I’m not sure I knw spring terms starts in Jan 22 so I’m assuming to apply at Soon as possible and then slowly send them all the needed documents

I originally applied to College of New Rochelle for Fall 2019. I received official notice the school had closed down and figured I'd be applying to schools all over again.

During mid-August, I got a call while on vacation (in the canyons at that) that I was accepted to Mercy College (application was automatically sent to Mercy as CNR merged). I was happy but at the same time bummed I couldn't begin in the fall as I certainly wasn't prepared to start school the following week.

I too ended up paying my deposit to defer to Spring 2020.

Good luck to the current applicants awaiting a response

Do you need to have all prerequisites completed when application is submitted?

I REALLY think they take a holistic approach. My cumulative GPA was just below the minimum requirement at 2.9. To be very honest I didn't take school very seriously. I think what made my application packet strong was:

-my pre-req grades, (mostly A-)

-I can confidently say my essay and letter of recommendation were pretty damn good.

-the year of volunteer experience I had

So, don't let the GPA worry you too much. Your experience can definitely win them over as well as your essay and LOR

Is it blatantly obvious when you get accepted? My portal was updated with general information like a CWID ID. And an option to pay for my seat but i dont see a acceptance letter anywhere.

Hi Everyone,

I also applied for the Spring 2020 semester. I was told they will be giving out decisions around the last week of October - so good luck to everyone!

They also told me they are rolling admissions so they will keep accepting applications until all spots have been filled. So I think it's best to submit your application asap. I applied shortly after Fall 19 semester seats were filled up. So I was able to be one of the first applicants to apply for Spring 2020. I was able to sit down with them in person as they explained as much as they can for me. So if anybody has any questions feel free to ask :).

Also, I was told they will only start to review you once you have a complete application meaning all transcripts and classes are submitted and completed.
