Merced College Fall 2022/Spring 2023 ADN

Starting a thread for any ADN applicants. This will be my first year applying to nursing programs. Already have a Bachelor's in Health Administration but GPA is only 3.35. Looking for others starting the process :).

I have a question for someone who got in last year? I'm just wondering what shoes you can wear or are recommended as well as did you buy your own scrubs then apply patches or you buy the actual scrubs from school? iPad or lab top or both? I got my acceptance for 2023 but am just curious if these few questions.

They have to be all white shoes. You can purchase your own and place patch. I use a Microsoft surface.

Thank you for responding. Can it be any white shoe or are they strict with material? Awesome! I love stretchy, breathy material so I'm glad I can get my own. Is it royal blue or navy blue? OK, can you take notes on it or do you just hand write them? Sorry for all my questions but I'm so excited to start.

Any white shoe they say not canvas. Royal blue. It does come with a pen but I hand write my notes. And congratulations! Take it one day at a time and try not to get overwhelmed. Books are ebooks only be prepared to pay about $1100 the first day of class. You can purchase the hard copy for more and it is priced per book but you need to purchase the ebook versions as well.

Thank you thank you. Do you recommend a certain shoes? Do a-lot of people buy there own scrubs? I like to hand write as well so I may just stick with my Mac book. Got it. I'll make sure to be prepared with payment.

A few of us wear clove, they are wipeable. A lot of us buy our own. The school ones don't feel as nice. We all wear different brands. And don't forget to budget for compression socks.

I have always worn Nikes working in dental but they have cloth on top so I don't think I can use them. For compression socks I seen some on Amazon. They seem affordable but not sure which I need.

They probably will allow if they are all white. I think they say not canvas because of vomit etc. Any compression socks they are not required but good to wear because you will be on your feet for clinical for about 11 hours.
