My male patient uses incontinent briefs. He is sensitive to the elastic at the leg opening. So far, we have found none that have a cloth-like band at the leg opening. Can someone be of assistance regarding a product? This is an active gentleman.Thank you.

What about some kind of skin protectant there? I found some stuff made by Vagisil, I think (I cannot believe I am typing this!). It's a 'chafe-relief gel'---after you apply it to the area and let dry, it makes a nice protective layer. No odor, no residue, no kind of 'yuckying' up clothes. Maybe worth a try!

If he's just incontinent of urine, try using small or medium size baby diapers. If they aren't all the way unfolded, you can place them around the member and they are very absorbent, especially the "night-time" ones. They can be held in place by regular tighty-whities (Jockey shorts) + experimenting with the tabs that come on them.

Years ago, many LTCs used a fabric diaper that had snap sides with a fluid repellant panel. I remember them sooooo well as they would deteriorate with institutional use rather quickly. Haven't seen them in eons but someone must still make them, I bet. But they might be what's needed.

Maybe a DME supply place has some info.

What about a skin barrier like something you would use for around a wound?
