Greetings, any of you guys like to chase turkeys in the spring? The turkeys here in Iowa are starting to strut and gooble in the am. Season starts April 11th. Getting the itch to catch some crappies too.

Hey Joe, just going up to upper red lake in minnesota for some crappies, had some warm weather here so hope they are biting soon. I am a bowhunter who has hunted whitetail for awhile and am looking into bowing for some gobblers.

I've fished around Alex, and Ottertail, but not that far up. If your planning on bow hunting for gobblers. I'd recommend a stand-up portable blind. They can make you easy.

Where do you work?

I am actually a senior biology student at the University of St. Thomas and I am applying to get into Minnesotas accelerated program, with hopes of becoming a CRNA.

How did you go about becoming an RN

Hey Joe,

Not much hunting to be had in my area of NC. However, the catfish are starting to bite in the river near me, and I have several ponds that the bluegill and crappie are starting to bite in.

Maybe we could have a biggest fish contest over the spring and summer.

I'll be starting bass fishing soon. Many ponds and lakes here in NC.

Saw multiple turkeys the other day strutting with their friends the deer. I explained to my wife why they traveled together and she didn't believe me. Yes dear, the turkeys really do eat the corn out of the deer droppings.

I think we'll be having ham this Thanksgiving.

I took a EMT-A(basic) class when I was a senior in H.S. My first job was a full-time EMT after I graduated. Then became a Paramedic. Went to nursing school after 5 yrs of figuring out I wanted more knowledge base to go with the responsibility. Got a diploma in Nursing when there was still such a thing. Did 1 yr in a CCU in Cedar Rapids, because I couldn't get a ER job as a new grad. Then went to ER. Have 18 yrs in as RN now. Working at the U of Iowa in their level 1 Trauma Center.

Hunting and fishing is a great stress relief from this type of work. I really don't care if I whack anymore critters. Just like to get out in the peace and quiet of the outdoors. It is a blast to get those gobblers fired up with some calling.

I think I would rather be in the flooded timber duckhunting than anywhere else on earth. Up until about mytwo years ago I had hunted every day of every duck season since I was old enough to hunt by myself....I absolutely live for it.

My favorite is the BWCA. I go with my brothers and co-workers so when they return from the trip they can say the camped with nurses.

Specializes in ICU.

I deer hunt and turkey hunt in the fall. Matter of fact I broke out the boat today for a little bass fishing the water was 60F and the air was 81F at Kentucky Lake. Bass are fun but my real love is catfishing.

Hey Joe, my sister-in-law lives outside of Iowa City, and she's decided to pursue nursing at UofI. What are your opinions of the nursing school, the trauma center, and nursing in general in that town? I live in Seattle, and know that there are regional variations.

** ps. sorry to disregard the fishing thing. i used to fish with my dad & loved it, but haven't done it in years. it's a good way to relax & get outside.
