Hi! I accepted a position at MH Childrens (med center) in the PICU. I am moving from out of state so I am feeling nervous and excited to meet people!

Hello! Glad to have found this forum ? I have accepted an offer for MedSurg @ MHSE. Has anyone heard from their Team Onboarder yet?

Hey ? I'll be there with you! I am not a new grad but I am new to hospital. Looking forward to meeting you. When are you moving here?

Hey! I am moving the week before my start date, so probably February 17th or so. Are you doing PICU as well? Looking forward to meeting you too ?

@ngw123 hi! congrats on getting the job for Children's Memorial Hermann!! I am graduating in May and applying right now and was wondering if you have any tips during the interview process and how it works? or just some questions you don't mind sharing please? I really want to work here and I hope you see this!! thank you in advance ?
@Sawyer-kendall For me, it was more of a getting to know you and your personality kinda thing. There weren't any "what did you do when you caught a co-worker stealing" kinda questions or clinical questions.

hi! thank you so much! the process was fairly simple: after my application, I was invited to “virtual match day”, where we scheduled an interview on zoom. I talked to 2 unit managers (PICU and heart center). The actual interview was really short, and also was just questions getting to know me. For example, why Houston (since I’m moving from out of state), why I wanted to be a nurse/work on that unit and such. I heard back two days later if I remember correctly. I hope that’s helpful, let me know if you have other questions!

@ngw123 hello! I know you interviewed a while ago but I have my interview with the Peds Heart Center ICU/IMU coming up and I’m super nervous. do you remember if they asked you any situational based questions as in “what would you do if or tell me about a time when” or were they more getting to know more about you and why you’re interested type questions?
