Memorial Healthcare Residency Nov. 2021

Published

Hi everyone, I wanted to open a discussion for those that applied to the November 2021 Nurse Residency Program for Memorial Healthcare System just to keep everyone involved and informed if there are updates between applicants. I also thought it would be nice to connect with others who have the same interests or applied to the same units.

I don’t know if it’s worth it to go into a field I don’t want... it may make it harder to switch into my preferred field after. Much to think about. Perhaps I could wait for their next cohort to try again...

I was thinking the same also, I would rather not burn out or be unhappy every day for who knows how long. I’d rather wait for a better opportunity.

Sigh.. because I know memorial probably pays better than HCA, and has better nurse to patient ratios.
it’s a tough decision.

Have you guys applied too Baptist they are hiring

Nooo haha don’t surrender to them. Horrible. I applied and spoke to the recruiter and had a whole interview set up for 2 locations and got ready to go to the interview which they told me was in person. I called that morning for more details, the recruiter told me “OMG I’m so sorry I meant to tell you we switched it to a zoom interview” and then the time comes and I didn’t receive a call or zoom link or anything. I emailed both recruiter and HR and there was no response. Extremely unprofessional.

that's awesome to get an offer to ER! I interviewed with JHACH in St Pete's a couple of days ago so I want to wait and see if something comes out of that before applying to more

Do not apply to any HCA hospital they don’t not pay at all and it’s horrible go for memorial Baptist Jackson or broward health

Is it different based on hospital? When I spoke to the HCA recruiter she told me I would start at $23 and then go up to $27 after orientation. Obviously wouldn’t believe it since they can even commit to an interview that was promised. When I was in school, Baptist spoke to us about their pay and I remember them saying they start at $19-21 during orientation. I thought they were crazy. That was for Boca regional.

Baptist in Miami is starting more than that $29 plus shift differential roughly 8 dollars more
