Dianah  glad you're feeling better.  Hope DH's toothache improves

Stars glad the day turned out so well

Tweety hope your next shift proves less busy

Ado the recipe is the Hearty Lentil  Stew from the Health Recipes cookbook from Crock  Pot:  Layer in crock pot 1-1.5cups green or brown lentils, 3 cups cauliflower, 1.5 cup chopped onion, 1.5 cup chopped carrot.  Mix 4 cups vegetable broth with 2 teaspoons cumin and 1 teaspoon ginger and  add to crock pot.  Cook on low 9 to 11 hours, add 1 15oz can of tomato sauce 10 minutes before end.  Top with peanuts

Yesteday was a slower day but still did quite a bit.  Got laundry done before church, after church went shopping for some new Summer shorts.  Went for bike ride in the afternoon, although it was kinda hot.  Moved some stuff into storage in the evening.  Was kinda late to be that active, had a little trouble falling to sleep.   Or maybe the bike ride made me too warm

Today  even less planned.  Going bird watching again, going to meet J for lunch if he's up to it

Going to be a warmer day today,  up to 90.  Rain should hold off until tomorrow

Good morning.

Have a good day Joe.

Ado, hope the itching has subsided.  Enjoy the day.

Stars, hope your husband feels better.  I sometimes see snippets on Instagram of Family Feud and it is racy sometimes with the questions.  Once I heard "name something a woman likes to sit on....."  Hope your GI issues resolve.

I'm going to lay low today.  The beaches will be crowded and it's hot.  Hope to go to the movies tomorrow.  Finished up a cute novel about a world in which the first female president won after Obama and her very handsome college aged son having an affair with the Prince of England.  I've ordered my next book from Amazon but really I should get a library card.  One hesitancy is I take so long to finish a book.

Have a great day.

Good morning. My computer won’t turn on so I’m posting on my phone, so more typos than usual. I think I’m recovered from traveling, I sure was tired and hurting from all the sitting. I finally got to see Hamilton with the grandsons on Saturday in Vancouver. I really enjoyed it. And we stopped to eat at a White Spot. It is the quintessential Canadian restaurant and the kids liked it. I had poutine. Yesterday I had to get a COVID test for a procedure on Tuesday. And somehow I forgot I’m supposed to work on Tuesday, so will have to email my boss today that I’m taking the day off. Allergies are still causing issues.hopefully this passes soon.
Joe, your lentil soup sounds good.
I should go to the library. I need to get rid of a bunch of books.

stars, 2 days isn’t much of a detox. Hopefully they set hubby up with some counseling.

Dianah, I’m sorry about your hubby too. Is a trip to the dentist in his near future?

Ado, I hear you on the antihistamine issue. I hope you get to the water.
later, folks

Hey, you'n's~

Got a call from hubby that the doc said he was ready to go home and it would be early afternoon before they got all the paperwork accomplished. Then at 11:30 he called and said "Are you here yet?"  (Uh--- is it afternoon already?) So I told Nannie to go pee because we were going to get her son "out of hock", and we left. Then as I was trying to find the discharge door (it's a complicated place) he said "Are you here yet?" and in three minutes, I was there. We didn't have to go to the pharmacy, at least. Now we are home, Nannie is napping and hubby is up in his room. Wonder if he is resting on his bed? I guess when he feels like telling us of his 'adventure' at the hospital, he will come down to the den.

Yeah, I don't know yet about the detox deal; he had told me they were going to give him a med to help with that, but didn't know what it might be. Don't know if they've recommended AA or a counselor or what. (--to be continued--)

It's kind of hot outside, 80-something-ish, sunny and a lot of fluffy clouds. Haven't checked the weather report yet today. There is a ballgame on at 8 PM.

With this new computer I got 7 'free' days of Ad Remover. Once those 7 days were up, the ads started slamming all over the screen. ARGH! I sent them a message and said my subscription wasn't due for renewal until September and to please get the ads off my computer! They apologized and did so right away, thank goodness. I don't for the life of me understand how people can tolerate all those pop-ups and word-crawls and pictures! I have had Ad Remover for so many years that when it isn't stomping out the ads the screen makes me cross-eyed!

--------------------------Intermission-----------------

Hubby said just before he left they gave him another dose some "medicine that would take away the appetite for drinking", but he couldn't remember the name of it, and we would pick up the prescription tomorrow. I asked if they said anything about a counselor or AA, and he said they told him he would be working that out with his PCP. He told us that the woman who drew the fluid out of him made him hurt the worst he has ever hurt before and he made her stop. He said he was writhing (sp?) with the pain. But now he is worried that she might not have taken out all the fluid. Not sure when his follow-up appt is going to be. I hate getting second and third-hand information from a non-medical person, and can't get answers to my questions and queries!

That's all for now. The siesta in the den has started earlier today; I'm going to  make Nannie some lunch now, so she will just have to wake up!

Naltrexone might be what they gave your hubby, Stars.

I gave him a Fleet's because he was 'full of it'.  ?

We didn't go to the water. I knew the day was done for when Hubs rolled over this morning and asked me to get the thermometer. He doesn't have fever but his voice is hoorifice and deep and he's coughing a lot. Says his throat hurts. Lung sounds clear. O2 sat fine. He did some sanding yesterday but did wear an N95 mask.

So I slept a lot, cooked a little (made an apple pie) and started some laundry. Twin A came home from the zoo having learned that once again he didn't get chosen for a ream lead position. He "needs to smile more" ?

Hello, all!

We are laying low at home.  I did go to the grocery store to get supplies to make two recipes.  One was a crunchy salad with cukes and cabbage and red onion and cilantro, and a dressing.  The other was a one-pot pasta.  I used whole wheat pasta, and while I WANTED fresh basil in it, there was none to be had at the grocery store.  I sauteed onions and mushrooms and garlic, and added fresh grape tomatoes and chopped fresh spinach, as well as the seasonings the recipe called for: S&P, oregano, red pepper flakes, and then I added dried basil instead of fresh.  Dh and I just finished the online jam, and we will dig into the pasta and salad for dinner.  Well, dh will probably not eat the salad, as his tooth still bothers him.  It IS better today, but is still tender.  No trip to the dentist yet, nursej22, as he says it feels more like he bruised the root bed of two opposing teeth, rather than the pain of a crack or exposed root.  We'll see.  I bought him some yogurt and puddings, and other things for a mechanical soft diet.

Wednesday we will go out to Hemet, hopefully be there by 10 for a 2-hr jam at a friend's house.  We jammed with her at the campout, and she reports a mutual friend is down from Oregon, and we will enjoy jamming with the group and with our friend and her visitor (who used to live down here in SoCal).

Friday I get my guitar!  We will drive to Anaheim, meet the luthier at his hotel, and deliver money and pick up the guitar!  Then probably eat out and drive home.  He is attending NAMM, and his family is with him, enjoying Disneyland. ?

No Stars, good your dh is home.  You and Nannie did well while he was gone!  Crossing my fingers he will make the right choices to keep himself healthy.

Joe, thanks for the lentil recipe!

Have a good evening!

Was looking through a catalog on-line that was selling t-shirts, and I realized this one was something many of us can relate to:

I want to sleep, but my brain won't stop talking to itself.

(? Please, I need Zzzz's!)
